Has anybody ever tried...
AI Settings
I currently use: Ratings 60 Current Year 15 Previous Year 15 2 Years Ago 10 Has anybody ever tried bumping up the Current Year rating mid-season...like around the trade deadline to stimulate trade value of deadline rentals? I am leery to make a shift in the middle of the year....I don't want chaos...but I have found (previous versions) that closers and set-up guys who are having a lights out year don't fetch much on the trade market. I have yet to come to my first trade deadline in '18 Thoughts? Anyone ever tried it? |

How is 60/15/15/10 working so far overall? I've been using 25/25/25/25 and I seem to be getting a decent amount of offers for lights out closers (not so much relievers tho)

It seems to work fine...but I don't notice any real difference from the defaults...I have a limited amount of time to play so I am a scaredy cat when it comes to more meaningful changes!

I change my AI settings on a monthly basis during the regular season, mostly to increase the influence the weight of current season stats. Or, in the case of the trade deadline, I will increase the Ratings influence, because IMO, team's are more likely to rely on their own opinion of a player/their particular needs at that time of the season, rather than be overly concerned with the players' current performance.
It's just a personal preference, I've been doing it for years, with what I'd call "success". Meaning I've not seen anything that has made me want to stop. Having said this, I also monitor/edit each teams various market ratings and their focus (rebuilding, etc.) closely, which i find to be very important for having the AI imitate reality. Anything to help the AI be more competitive over the long haul. FWIW. |
