"By The Decade" mod in the Workshop

This mod is now available on the Steam Workshop for OOTP20.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=1915454185

Subscribe to the mod to download it. Then open Workshop Central from inside OOTP20, find the mod in your list of items and then select "This item is downloaded, click here to install or reinstall it". From the OOTP main menu, select New Quickstart Game and you should see a quickstart file named "ByTheDecade 1950-59."

The best season of each team from 1950-1959. There are two divisions in each league. During the 1950s only the Yankees, Indians, and White Sox won a pennant and they are together in one division with the Red Sox. The other teams, Tigers, Senators, Orioles, and Athletics are in the other division. This way it is possible to still take a team that didn't win a pennant and get to the playoffs. This is the same for the National League. In one division there are the Braves, Dodgers, Giants, and Phillies and the other division has the Reds, Pirates, Cardinals, and Cubs.

This mod works with my other mod, "Major League Stadiums", so that you can have the real stadiums these teams played in if you like to watch or play out the games.

I have set up the teams so that they have their final rosters for their season. The year I selected for the League Totals Modifiers is 1954. The League Totals Modifiers will automatically calculate once you begin the regular season. Since the league file begins on January 1st, you still have the option to use a different year for the League Modifiers to Model if you want.

Here are the teams:

1956 Yankees
1954 Indians
1959 White Sox
1950 Red Sox

1953 Senators
1950 Tigers
1957 Orioles
1951 Athletics

1957 Braves
1955 Dodgers
1954 Giants
1950 Phillies

1952 Cardinals
1958 Pirates
1956 Reds
1952 Cubs

I have updated the workshop mode to include an additional file for 1901-1909 teams. If you subscribe to the mod you should see a QS file in your game titled ByTheDecade 1901-09 as well.

Here are the teams in the file. The league is set to the 1906 season.

1907 Tigers, 1903 Americans, 1905 Athletics, 1906 White Sox
1908 Senators, 1904 Highlanders, 1906 Naps, 1908 Browns
1906 Cubs, 1904 Reds, 1909 Pirates, 1905 Giants
1902 Beaneaters, 1901 Superbas, 1901 Phillies, 1901 Cardinals

I am not planning to do minor league teams. I want to make one for each decade, but 2010-19 should include the 2019 Nationals and 2019 Twins, and that is hard to do with OOTP20.

Thanks Garlon,

Do these team have netrualized stats? Or since you grouped by decades there was no need to normalize/netrualize?

Appreciate your efforts!!

Since you can only access this file if you have the steam version of OOTP20, could someone please email me the file directly at Skrabec1@yahoo.com ?

Thanks in advance! Neil

These files were created by using the create custom league feature in OOTP. The stats are not neutralized or translated. I figured that the teams were compatible since the HR/9, BB/9, and K/9 are pretty similar across a decade and the fact that these teams and players did compete against each other. I had to then go on BBR and make the transactions for these teams so that the rosters in the file are approximately what these teams had at the end of the season.

Did it ever happen that the same player was on two different teams?
