Great, thanks for asking! (And congrats on the double-digit All-Stars!)

In P404, I was resigned to the fact that there was no way Huntley could keep up with joehart's legendary Washington Express in the AC. Well, I'm surprised and pleased to say that at the All-Star Break, Huntley is not just keeping up; the Red Raiders actually have a slightly better record, 79-18 to 77-18, and the absolute smallest slight advantage a team can have in RDiff (+357 vs +356)!

The biggest P404 story is the NC, where the Confederate Dunces and RealMadrid El Blanco are duking it out Ali-Foreman style. Thanks to an active 20-game winning streak, the Dunces currently have the advantage in actual won-loss record, 84-12 to 82-14, but RealMadrid is the monster of the league in RDiff (+482 vs the Dunces' +396).

Anything can happen, of course, but if the final 4 isn't Huntley v Washington and Confederate v RealMadrid, something shocking happened.

Standings follow...

Warbirds hold an 8 game lead over the 9X PL champion Homestead Grays.
The Grays have the season series 5-8 with 6 to play.

The Warbirds have proven they are a great regular season team but have not had enough success in the playoffs. I expect a lot of tinkering this year.

I decided to do something a bit different this season. After another poor start, I've went with a much stronger defensive unit (no roster changes, only lineup changes) and it's working out pretty well so far. I made the change at the end of June and since then we've gone 47-9 .839. We're now slightly in the lead for best record in conference which this season will actually be useful. But in terms of RDiff, it's not even close. The Chicago Rampage have a +411 to our +280.

Our defense is rated #1 in ZR for the 1st time in years and D Eff is #3 (normally it's around 10th or worse). Our pitching really perked up (no surprise there) once we went to a stronger defensive unit and the offense is still strong enough (#2 in R on a 881 R pace) so I'll probably keep this lineup for the remainder of the year.

Considering our record, we're doing unusually poor at earning PP. We have 1 3k gold achievement and no silvers. So our total PP so far is only 6750. I guess it will be a while before we get another upgrade. Speaking of which, for the 1st time in a long time, I'm not even sure what position I want to upgrade.

I mean, what is going on here? I'd say the wind was blowing out but I play in a dome! Neither of us had position players pitching either, all legit gold/diamond pitchers, it just got out of hand! Hats off to my Clayton Kershaw for the 3 inning save where he gave up 5 runs. Obviously next game between us is a 2-1 squeaker, because baseball.

Anyone ever gone more than 9 RBI's in a game?

I had Joe D hit two grand slams in one game and collect 10 RBI.

For the 1st week in I donít know how long, none of my teams will win their division. Even my PT 1.0 teams will not finish 1st. It kind of explains that 1st week back to work after a break!

P479: The Orlando Breakers won 18 previous titles and seem to hard for the Doubledays to handle for the division as we go 7-12 against the Breakers during the regular season. Arlington Rebels and Colorado Heroes is destroying the competition in their respective NC divisions. Virginia Beach freaks are highly favored in the AC.

P400: This league is wide open. There are some decent teams but none dominant as other Perfect leagues. The only Previous Perfect titles were Manhatton Momos (5), Fayetteville Woodpeckers (1) and Malibu Waverunners (5). That's it! Lucky me I have the 2nd best record in the AC, which is also the 2nd best record in the AC East . Anything can happen come playoffs as a new 1st time perfect champion can arise. Likely pairing is Momos vs Waverunners in the World Series.

P417: Another wide open league with only 4 teams with prior PT titles. The Warbirds and Grays are the best teams in the league that also happen to be in the same division. The Owlz will have a winning record but will miss the playoffs for the 1st time in a couple of months. A 1st time perfect champion is possible in this league, but itís hard to imagine the San Angelo Warbirds not winning this one.

P404: Get Over Here!

Huntley and Washington in the AC, and RealMadrid and Confederate in the NC, are locked in mortal kombat for the #1 seeds. 9 or 10 games remain, and nothing is decided yet. A thrilling end to the 2060 season in P404!

P.467 has been really fun. Been goin at it with the Baker Street Brigands and Eden Prairie Landsharks all year - we're 10-8 and 10-6 against them, respectively, with just a couple of games left in the year. Currently ahead in the wild card race but the last series is against EP so anything can happen!
Trevor Hoffman has been incredible since I finished the Padres missions two "seasons" ago... it took him until July to blow his first save this year. Currently 39/42 for save opportunities and 8-1, 1.29 ERA. And Ed Walsh, well, gonna Ed Walsh.

Here's to 30 more years of Big Ed! Glad my entire thing was just collecting all the Sox cards before the missions came out and ended up with him immediately.

P404: Record Watch

With 5 games left in the regular season, the RealMadrid El Blanco have scored 1,213 runs. Assuming they don't get shut out 5 times in a row, the team is a lock to add a second team to this list of the most runs scored in a Perfect League all-time. The only real question is, can they break their own team record, currently 1,234 (11th most all-time)?

Anyone ever gone more than 9 RBI's in a game?
Game where J. Olerud (95 Toronto Blue Jays) drove 10 in...Real life game at Yankee Stadium where Carlos Delgado had a grand slam & another 3-R HR maybe but anyway ended up with 11 or 12 RBI for the game. EDIT: Or I guess it was 9 for Delgado when I looked it up. I might be able to look up the record...EDIT: 12 by Jim Bottomley (1924) & Mark Whiten (1993) is listed as the RL record.

Delgado:

Whiten:

I suppose if someone passes 12 it might be in an extra-inning game.

P404: Final Standings

Huntley and RealMadrid managed to hold off Washington and Confederate by 2 and 3 games, respectively, for the #1 seeds. RealMadrid did set a new team record for runs scored in a season with 1,236. On to the playoffs!

First of all, it's nice to see you guys back to posting in here!

Secondly, the Frogs finished a rather uneventful season in P462 this week. Both conferences were pretty much decided on day 1. The Scottsdale Scorpions paced the entire league with 135 wins (their Zack Wheat ended up hitting .392). Meanwhile, my Frogs paced the other conference with 125 wins. Probably could've made a run at 130 again, but I decided to work on some positional training once I felt Scottsdale pulling away (Ozzie at 2B, Gilliam at SS, Ichiro in LF, Ashburn in RF, Yelich in CF). The Frogs topped 1000 runs once again (1,015) and batted .300 on the nose.

As for PP'age, we cleared 24K in achievement earnings this week. Two gold achievements (contact inning, blowout inning) worth a combined 7K.

As for individual accomplishments, Bonds led the conference and tied a franchise record (that he set in his 'rookie' season) with 40 HR. Ashburn won the batting title (.338), by 5 points over his teammate Ichiro. Ed Walsh was only 60 K's shy of a pitching triple crown. And how about Red Ruffing's 5.0 WAR out of the bullpen? Norm Cash's first season on the team went swimmingly (.325/.458/.519 19 HR 94 RBI 104 BBs 5.9 WAR) as did Hal Newhouser's (21-3 2.64 ERA 1.15 WHIP 7.0 WAR). If SE Appling is my ideal leadoff hitter (and he is), then I think Cash is my ideal 2-hole hitter. Could even say he's money

Milestones? Appling got his 3,000th hit and 800th double. Ichiro, uh, also got his 3,000th hit. Ed Walsh topped 4,000 IP (344-109, 2.70 ERA, 128.9 WAR).

We'll get the winner of the New Orleans Yankees (96-66) and the Sooner Sox (85-78). One team is a pseudo-Yankees theme team and the other has a Red Sox logo, and had to win a G163 to make the Wild Card game. Here's to both teams burning their ace pitchers before they face me!

P404: Who's Trying to Prevent the Inevitable?

Washington's opponent in the Division Series, AC Central champion Muscle Shoals Music (92-70, +90 RDiff, 682 RS, 592 RA), sports a rotation headed by Tom Seaver (14-10, 2.87 ERA, 32 GS, 213.1 IP, 1.05 WHIP, 3.08 FIP, 153 ERA+, 6.4 WAR) and Ed Walsh (12-6, 2.53 ERA, 32 GS, 217.1 IP, 1.08 WHIP, 3.18 FIP, 174 ERA+, 6.2 WAR), but more interesting is the pitcher that placed fourth on the team in WAR out of the bullpen: Smokey Joe Wood (88 G, 140.2 IP, 9-9, 16 HLD, 16 SV, 2.50 ERA, 2.82 FIP, 1.11 WHIP, 176 ERA+, 3.9 WAR). The offense was paced in WAR by CF Pete Hill (.287/.370/.443, 122 OPS+, 3.6 WAR) and DH Harry Heilman (.294/.352/.478, league-leading 193 H and 55 2B, 125 OPS+, 3.3 WAR).

NC East champion Philadelphia Legends (102-60, +190 RDiff, 890 RS, 700 RA) are the biggest threat to the anticipated RealMadrid/Confederate showdown. Coming off its first Perfect League title last season, the Legends' pitching staff features Rube Waddell (15-6, 3.90 ERA, 33 GS, 194.0 IP, 1.32 WHIP), Pete Alexander (13-9, 4.12 ERA, 33 GS, 201.0 IP, 1.28 WHIP, 3.08 FIP, 6.2 WAR), Lefty Grove (17-6, 3.36 ERA, 32 GS, 195.2 IP, 1.21 WHIP, 3.24 FIP, 5.6 WAR), and Chief Bender (16-6, 3.77 ERA, 32 GS, 200.2 IP, 1.34 WHIP, 3.79 FIP, 4.3 WAR). The lineup WAR leaders are CF Richie Ashburn (.292/.371/.390, 105 OPS+, 3.07 RF, +2.3 ZR, 1.005 EFF, 4.2 WAR) and very much offense over defense RF Ed Delahanty (.305/.369/.503, 131 OPS+, 1.86 RF, -13.1 ZR, .918 EFF, 3.7 WAR).

Info on Huntley's and RealMadrid's opponents once they are decided...

That last post was a whole block o' text, so let's see if I can break this up a bit more.

Huntley will face the Las Vegas War Pigs (95-67, +106 RDiff, 753 RS, 647 RA) in the Division Series. Through an odd quirk in the schedule, 9 of the 19 regular-season clashes between these divisional foes took place in September/October. Judging by Huntley's recent slow starts in the Division Series, the fact that Huntley won all 9 games will surely be a completely inaccurate omen.

Lefty Grove (13-6, 2.84 ERA, 3.23 FIP, 6.2 WAR) and Record Breaker 100 Pedro Martinez (17-10, 3.72 ERA, 3.47 FIP, 5.3 WAR) head the rotation, and Lee Smith (31 SV, 3.40 ERA, 2.83 FIP, 2.5 WAR), set up by 96 Kirby Yates (21 HLD, 3.70 ERA, 4.16 FIP, 0.5 WAR) and 96 Mariano Rivera (11 HLD, 3.06 ERA, 4.14 FIP, 0.4 WAR), anchors the bullpen.

The War Pigs' offense is led by outfield trio LF Barry Bonds (.273/.378/.517, 36 HR, 143 OPS+, 4.7 WAR), CF Live Mike Trout (.225/.341/.399, 27 HR, 103 OPS+, 3.6 WAR), and RF Hank Aaron (.264/.348/.460, 28 HR, 120 OPS+, 2.4 WAR).

Meanwhile, drawing the unenviable task of trying to take down RealMadrid are the Ann Arbor Awardwolves (88-74, +29 RDiff, 686 RS, 657 RA). Ben Sheets (13-14, 3.52 ERA, 3.48 FIP, 125 ERA+, 5.7 WAR) and Bret Saberhagen (17-12, 3.78 ERA, 3.53 FIP, 116 ERA+, 5.1 WAR) head the rotation, with 99 SE Rickey Henderson (.257/.347/.389, 102 OPS+, 2.48 RF, +11.0 ZR, 1.064 EFF, 3.8 WAR) and Amos Otis (.268/.313/.427, 100 OPS+, 2.28 RF, +15.6 ZR, 1.107 EFF, 3.4 WAR) are the standouts in the lineup per WAR.

Has been a while since my last post. Got a little bored with the game but lately I've been a little more active in-game.

The YakAnglers take their division winning 103 games, 12 games up on the Louisiana Legion. 100 Schmidt again led the team in HRs with 31, he's been great for my YakAnglers.

The Marathoners took the final wildcard spot with 90 wins and went on to beat the Paragon City Heroes in the Wildcard Game by a score of 3-2. The Marathoners season will more than likely end in the next round, as we face the 128 win Julestown Squirrels.

The Miners win their division with 96 wins and will face the 88 win Kariko Villagers in the Division series.

Not a lot of confidence in any of these teams getting to their Perfect Series, I'd expect the usual sub-league series loss, at best.

Why Baseball Playoffs Are the Best Playoffs (and Also Like a Box of Chocolates): You Never Know What You're Gonna Get

Game 1: Huntley's Roger Clemens throws 8 innings, giving up 1 hit and no walks and striking out 9. Huntley wins, 5-0.

Game 2: Las Vegas's Randy Johnson lasts only 4 innings, giving up 7 hits, 3 walks, and 4 earned runs. Not to be outdone, Huntley's Curt Schilling lasts 5 innings but is tagged for 5 hits, 3 walks, and 6 earned runs. Fortunately, Huntley's bullpen trio of Walter Johnson, Lee Smith, and Mariano Rivera (4 IP, 5 H, 3 W, 2 ER) outpitches the War Pigs' bullpen trio of Gerrit Cole, Rivera, and Jonathan Papelbon (4 IP, 7 H, 1 W, 6 ER) and Huntley wins, 10-8.

In other action, Washington held serve, winning 5-0 and 6-5 over Muscle Shoals, and RealMadrid and Confederate are both up 1-0.

The inevitable grows closer...
