The Houston Astros were the worst MLB team, going 67-94 and finishing in 129th place. They were just 8 games ahead of relegation, the worst ever performance by a Major League team.
Well... this heightens my rooting interest. Hopefully, the 'stros can bounce back...

2066 Season:

The BOSTON RED SOX were World Champions, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in 5 games. The Cardinals have now reached the World Series in five of the last six seasons.

The LOWELL SPINNERS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 53-109, finishing 5 games behind the Buies Creek Astros for relegation. For the second year in a row, the team relegated is an affiliate of the team that won the World Series.

141 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Lowell Spinners

Low-A- Boston Red Sox

Low-A Teams Remaining: 12

Red Sox Affiliates Remaining: 2/5 (Pawtucket, Greenville)

All Time Record: 3639-4276 (.460)

Best Season: 2038, 93-69, 24th place

Best Hitter: Jeremy Henson (2048-2060)

Though he was never a star, Henson spent his entire career with the Spinners. His .301 batting average and 27.0 WAR are both second in team history. His best season came in 2057, when he hit .337.

Best Pitcher: Al Vice (2023-2033)

A former first round pick out of Wichita State, Vice was a solid arm in Lowell's rotation. In 2024, his second season, he led the league with 34 starts. A year later, he posted a 3.01 ERA with 233 strikeouts. Vice later played with Pawtucket, Salem-Keizer, and Lehigh Valley before retiring in 2036 with exactly 50.0 WAR.

Notes:

After signing a 7-year extension, Gwinnett 2B Phil Dumont had a down year, hitting .274 and playing in just 99 games due to injury.

RF Sergio Irizarry signed with the Dodgers and led the league with a 1.099 OPS.

Royals SS Juan Escobar led the league with 9.3 WAR.

Reds CF Tim Bullocks led the league with a .377 batting average. The Weymouth, Mass native has established himself as the game's premier contact hitter.

Baltimore 1B Butch Claassen led the league with 54 home runs.

Braves 3B Jian-Cheng Mah led the league with 75 stolen bases. It was the most since Mike Rockwell stole 77 bases for the 2044 Asheville Tourists.

Red Sox SP Billy Pullen led the league with a 2.41 ERA.

Auburn SP Sonny Lovett led the league with 290 strikeouts.

SP Steve Murray was on pace for a career year after signing with the Phillies. However, he had surgery on his elbow at the All Star Break that required him to miss the remainder of the season. Murray plans to be ready for Opening Day 2067.

The West Virginia Black Bears were the best MiLB team, going 101-61 and finishing in 3rd place. After being in first place for much of the season, they lost their final 5 games to fall behind the Cardinals and out of the playoffs. The Black Bears were propelled by the #3 rotation in all of baseball, led by Amari Adigun and Eric Robinson.

The Houston Astros were the worst MLB team, going 74-88 and finishing in 101st place.

2067 Season:

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS were World Champions, defeating their former affiliate Lansing Lugnuts in 5 games.

The LAS VEGAS 51s were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 53-108, finishing 2 games behind the Charlotte Knights for last place.

140 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Las Vegas 51s

AAA- New York Mets

AAA Teams Remaining: 23

Mets Affiliates Remaining: 5/6

All Time Record: 3790-4287 (.469)

Best Season: 2034, 93-69, 31st place

Best Hitter: Juan Garza (2031-2042)

After signing as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic, Garza burst onto the scene by hitting 58 home runs in 2034 as a 24-year-old. It was his first of 8 consecutive seasons with at least 30 homers. After four seasons in Los Angeles and one in Palm Beach, Garza retired in 2047 with 544 home runs and 58.3 WAR

Best Pitcher: Andy El-Amin (2044-2051)

Though his best seasons came with Seattle, El-Amin began his career with the 51s. He is the team's leader with a 3.76 ERA and 26.3 WAR. In 2048, he struck out 251 batters. After a failed comeback attempt in 2059 with the Royals, he retired.

Notes:

Gwinnett CF Rogelio Troche won MVP after leading the league with 59 homers, 1.088 OPS, and 10.7 WAR. He is making up for his teammate Phil DuMont, who has been pedestrian at the plate since signing an extension in 2066.

Braves 3B/SS Jian-Cheng Mah led the league with a .374 batting average and 64 stolen bases. The 24-year-old has been worth 14.8 WAR over the past two seasons with just 5 home runs.

Brooklyn rookie CF Sam Gross struck out 276 times. The league's #11 prospect, Gross hit just .171 with a .578 OPS. His 276 Ks are the second most ever in a season, just 14 behind Carlos Perez' infamous 2036 season.

On July 29th, Rockies RF Mike Beam hit his 600th career home run.

Braves 3B Jian-Cheng Mah led the league with 75 stolen bases. It was the most since Mike Rockwell stole 77 bases for the 2044 Asheville Tourists.

Beloit SP Chris Wind led the league with a 1.98 ERA.

Auburn SP Sonny Lovett led the league with 299 strikeouts. He has had between 290 and 299 strikeouts in each of the last four seasons.

Giants SP Deshawn Togba led the league with a 0.91 WHIP.

As a team, the Missoula Osprey led the league with 1008 runs scored and 339 home runs.

2068 Season:

The LOS ANGELES DODGERS were World Champions, defeating the Chicago Cubs in a 4 game sweep.

The BINGHAMTON RUMBLE PONIES were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 58-104, finishing 2 games behind the Montgomery Biscuits for last place.

139 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Binghamton Rumble Ponies

AA- New York Mets

AA Teams Remaining: 20

Mets Affiliates Remaining: 4/6

All Time Record: 4018-4218 (.488)

Best Season: 2035, 98-63, 19th place

Best Hitter: Ken Mast (2029-2041)

The Hall of Fame third baseman was drafted by Binghamton in the second round in 2027, and he made his debut two seasons later. In 2035, Mast won his first of two Silver Slugger awards, hitting .321 with 51 home runs and a 1.004 OPS. After a few seasons with Detroit and Lakeland, Mast retired in 2047 with 550 career home runs.

Best Pitcher: Jim Babcock (2035-2045)

The Virginia native is Binghamton's all time leader with 108 wins and 33.7 WAR. In 2040, he posted a 2.83 ERA with 11.3 K/9. Following the 2045 season, Babcock signed a 5 year deal with Detroit. However, after two seasons with ERAs well above 5, Babcock was released in 2047, never to pitch in the Majors again.

Notes:

Missoula RF Chris Keatts led the league with 58 home runs. He becomes the 7th Missoula player to hit at least as many homers in a season.

Mississippi 2B Chris Herlihy led the league with a .361 batting average. He walked just 7 times all season, but he had just 34 strikeouts and 4 home runs. Herlihy is the Willians Astudillo of this league if Astudillo had a .380 BABIP.

Phillies 3B Greg Taylor won MVP after leading the league with a 1.116 OPS and 9.5 WAR.

Finally healthy, Phillies SP Steve Murray won his first Cy Young. He went 21-3 with a 2.24 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 297 strikeouts.

Despite having the league's MVP and Cy Young, the Phillies finished the season 19 games out of first place.

Brooklyn CF Sam Gross increased his otherworldly strikeout total from the year prior by striking out 280 times. He was better at the plate all around, hitting 35 home runs with a 100 OPS+.

On April 22nd, Rome 1B Danny Taylor hit his 600th career home run.

Salt Lake SP Ben Grupper led the league with a 1.91 ERA.

Iowa Cubs SP Sam Brumbaugh pitched 4 shutouts.

Marlins closer Mike Fry saved 51 games.

The Frisco RoughRiders were the best MiLB team, going 97-65 and finishing in 8th place.

The Tampa Bay Rays were the worst MLB team, going 68-94 and finishing in 117th place, just 10 games ahead of the pit.

2069 Season:

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS were World Champions, defeating the Atlanta Braves in 5 games.

The JACKSONVILLE JUMBO SHRIMP were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 55-106, finishing 3 games behind the Burlington Royals for last place.

138 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

AA- Miami Marlins

AA Teams Remaining: 19

Marlins Affiliates Remaining: 1/5

All Time Record: 4033-4365 (.480)

Best Season: 2055, 93-68, 21st place

Best Hitter: Nate Beaird (2049-2055)

One of the league's all time great shortstops, Beaird got his start in Jacksonville. In 2054, he posted a 1.051 OPS with 8.9 WAR. After signing with the Red Sox, Beaird won the league MVP in 2057. He retired in 2068 with 520 homers and 111.6 WAR, and he should be inducted into the Hall of Fame once he becomes eligible.

Best Pitcher: Andy French (2059-2068)

French was initially drafted by Augusta as a 7th round pick in 2057. A year later, he was sent to Jacksonville in a minor deal that brought starter Jim Perkins to the GreenJackets. But French took off from there, winning 20 games with a 3.20 ERA in 2063, being named pitcher of the month in June. His best season was perhaps his injury shortened 2065, in which he had a 166 ERA+ in 20 starts. At the 2068 trade deadline, Jacksonville dealt French to Toronto in exchange for two prospects, who unfortunately were swallowed into the Pit of Despair along with the team. French signed a 6-year deal with the Rangers last offseason, and he posted a 3.00 ERA in his first season.

Notes:

Missoula 1B Mike Fontenot (no relation) led the league with 62 home runs.

Lansing 1B Josh Derry led the league with a .376 batting average. His teammate Dwayne Bogin was second with a .365 average. The Lugnuts went 78-83.

Gwinnett CF Rogelio Troche won his second MVP in three seasons. He led the league with a 1.080 OPS and 10.0 WAR.

Louisville SP Mike Tokarz led the league with a 1.76 ERA.

Brooklyn CF Sam Gross missed two full months with a finger injury and still struck out 154 times. He now has struck out 756 times in just three seasons.

After signing with the Rockies, 36-year-old SP Deshawn Togba had the best season of his career, posting a 2.18 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 14.5 K/BB. He has now been runner-up for the Cy Young award three times.

Angels SP Curt Murphy struck out an absurd 341 batters. It was the most since Noah Syndergaard struck out 343 in 2020.

On April 4th, Indians 1B Butch Claassen hit his 600th home run. His 639 career homers are tied with Nolan Arenado for 32nd all time.

The Iowa Cubs dynasty I projected after three consecutive top-2 picks never panned out, largely due to injuries. Their second such pick, SP Jared Gibbons, has been effective when healthy. Unfortunately, the 28-year-old Gibbons has suffered 19 injuries in 6 years, including a torn rotator cuff that kept him out the entire 2069 season.

The Great Lakes Loons were the best MiLB team, going 100-61 and finishing tied for 4th place.

The Chicago White Sox were the worst MLB team, going 68-93 and finishing in 125th place.

Teams eliminated:

2018: Princeton Rays
2019: Bristol Pirates
2020: Aberdeen Ironbirds

Terrific. The one thing, I think the Pit of Despair should be renamed to match up with a certain marketing campaign of a certain beer company. Better for involving the people. I want to see that one phrase regularly commented on this thread.

2070 Season:

The GREAT LAKES LOONS were World Champions, defeating the Texas Rangers in 6 games. The Loons join the 2062 Midland RockHounds as the only MiLB teams to win the World Series.

The LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 57-105, finishing one game behind the Bowling Green Hot Rods for last place.

137 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Lakeland Flying Tigers

High A- Detroit Tigers

High A Teams Remaining: 19

Tigers Affiliates Remaining: 3/5

All Time Record: 4161-4397 (.486)

Best Season: 2054, 97-65, 14th place

Best Hitter: Kelyn Groulx (2042-2053)

A former first rounder, the RF Groulx led the lague with a .362 batting average in 2049. A year prior, he won a silver slugger for hitting .341 with 51 home runs and 8.3 WAR, finishing 3rd in MVP voting. In 2054, he signed with the Mariners, where he put together three great seasons and one terrible one. Groulx retired in 2057 with 543 home runs and a .948 OPS. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2063, and his #8 is the only one retired by Lakeland.

Best Pitcher: Arturo Najar (2044-2057)

Najar spent nearly the entirety of his career with Lakeland, save for one final season in Kansas City. In 2048, he had a 15-1 record with a 2.92 ERA and over 10 K/9. Unfortunately, Najar was plagued by injuries throughout his career. Najar suffered an absurd 64 injuries during his career, including a UCL tear that caused him to miss a full season of his prime. I've truly never seen anything like his injury history.

Notes:

Missoula 1B Mike Fontenot (still no relation) led the league with 65 home runs and a 1.116 OPS. Missoula's Ogren Park is basically Coors Field on steroids.

38-year-old Nationals RF Doug Riggs led the league with a .354 batting average.

Gwinnett CF Rogelio Troche led the league with 9.6 WAR and a .707 slugging percentage.

New Hampshire 2B Juan Keck had a 35 game hitting streak that stretched from late April to mid June.

Angels SP Curt Murphy led the league with 24 wins, a 1.98 ERA, and 0.742 WHIP. It was the 7th lowest WHIP of all time, and lowest since Mike Nifong's 0.714 in 2024.

Phillies SP Steve Murray struck out his 3000th career batter on June 28th. He was on pace for a tremendous season with a 2.33 ERA and 14.1 K/9 before an elbow injury in August sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

Memphis SP Matt Fry led the league with 303 strikeouts.

Braves Closer Mitch Vandehey saved 52 games.

Tulsa 1B Juan Blas moved up to 23rd all time with 658 home runs, putting him in a tie with Fernando Tatis Jr and two behind Willie Mays.

Rockies SP Deshawn Togba posted his 10th consecutive season with at least 230 strikeouts.

All five starters for the San Francisco Giants posted ERAs below 3.30, including future Hall of Famer Sonny Lovett.

The Tampa Bay Rays were the worst MLB team, going 66-96 and finishing in 125th place. It was the worst record ever by a major league team, and with the 113th ranked farm system, things might continue to get worse for the Rays.

Teams eliminated:

2018: Princeton Rays
2019: Bristol Pirates

Sorry to see the Mets' system finally take its first hits, after 48 seasons un-dinged. At least the Mets (FINALLY) won in 2055, after all those World Series losses. 69 years was enough.

Keep up the great work!

2071 Season:

We're back.

The CLEVELAND INDIANS were World Champions, defeating the San Francisco Giants in 5 games. It was their first World Series win in 123 years, snapping an unprecedented streak.

The RICHMOND FLYING SQUIRRELS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 53-109, four games behind the Fort Myers Miracle for last place.

136 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Richmond Flying Squirrels

AA- San Francisco Giants

AA Teams Remaining: 18

Giants Affiliates Remaining: 3/5

All Time Record: 4172-4549 (.478)

Best Season: 2051, 97-64, 18th place

Best Hitter: Steve Reynolds (2056-2064)

Reynolds was a first round draft pick by Richmond in 2055 out of Northwestern. A third baseman, he was twice named Silver Slugger. His best season came in 2061, when he was worth 9.6 WAR and hit 50 home runs. He signed with the Red Sox in 2065, and he was a World Champion the following year. He currently plays first base for the White Sox, and with 475 home runs, he will likely be a Hall of Famer in a few short years.

Best Pitcher: Billy Sanders (2046-2059)

Sanders was the second pick in the draft in 2042 and pitched for some of the best teams in Richmond history. After twice being named a top 5 prospect, he found his way into the rotation for years. His best season came at age 33 in 2057, when he was worth 6.1 WAR with a 2.83 ERA. Unfortunately, he tore his UCL the following Spring Training and missed the entire season. Sanders was never the same. He posted a 5.08 ERA in the bullpen in 2059. He remained unsigned for a season, and after a brief comeback attempt with Tacoma, he retired in 2061. His number 6 was retired by the Flying Squirrels.

Notes:

Omaha RF Jeremy Arnold led the league with a .381 batting average.

West Michigan RF Tim Waters had a .467 OBP. He walked 91 times to just 76 strikeouts. His 1.092 OPS led the league.

Great Lakes LF Juan Escobar led the league with 9.8 WAR.

Pulaski LF Dan Powell stole 13 bases and was caught 22 times, an atrocious ratio.

Two time reigning MVP Rogelio Troche had just a .314 OBP.

Delmarva SP Mike Gumm won the Cy Young Award with his 1.89 ERA. The former 1112nd overall pick broke out in a big way after posting an 8.62 ERA in four starts a year earlier.

Angels SP Curt Murphy led the league with 324 strikeouts.

Akron SP Chris Winlock went 2-20 with a 6.74 ERA.

Rockies SP Deshawn Togba struck out just 190 batters, his lowest total in 11 years. He still moved to 25th all time in that category.

The Vermont Lake Monsters were the best MiLB team, going 97-64 and finishing in 8th place.

The New York Yankees were the worst MLB team, going 73-88 and finishing in 101st place.

2072 Season:

The HELENA BREWERS were World Champions, defeating the New York Yankees in 7 games. They erased a 3-1 deficit to become the first rookie level team to win the World Series. They went 29-133 in their first season and finished 63-99 just two years ago.

The CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 50-112, nine games behind the Syracuse Chiefs for last place.

135 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Cedar Rapids Kernels

A- Minnesota Twins

A Teams Remaining: 20

Twins Affiliates Remaining: 4/5

All Time Record: 4023-4859 (.453)

Best Season: 2060, 93-69, 24th place

Best Hitter: Pat Suppes (2045-2055)

Passed over until the 729th pick in the 2043 draft, Suppes was thrice a top 100 prospect. He developed into a great home run hitter, hitting 20 or more twelve seasons in a row. Later playing for the Angels and Twins, he retired with 554 longballs. But he wasn't just a slugger. Suppes won three consecutive gold gloves in right field from 2048 to 2050. He received 57% of the Hall of Fame vote last year in his 2nd year on the ballot.

Best Pitcher: Eric Hammond (2040-2049)

Eric "Dixie" Hammond, a Boise native despite his nickname, was drafted by the Kane County Cougars. Two years later, they sent him to Cedar Rapids for Sam Dale, an uninteresting first baseman. Hammond was a great pitcher for some Kernels teams that could not win games for him. He won just 6 of his 30 starts in 2044 despite a 3.26 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 13.0 K/9. The rest of his career was decimated by injuries. A torn labrum in 2048 cut his best season short. After a couple years as a reliever with Beloit, Hammond tore his UCL prior to the 2052 season. It turned out to be a career ending injury.

Notes:

Vermont CF Andy Dombrosky led the league with a .359 batting average. He struck out just 37 times this season and stole 54 bases.

Pensacola 1B Sean Hindman led the league with 55 home runs and a 1.060 OPS.

Albuquerque SS Phil Jones led the league with 8.4 WAR.

Mississippi CF Juan Montecinos struck out 263 times. Despite his 4 star rating, he slashed .189/.258/.320 with a -0.9 WAR.

Louisville SP Sean Clark led the league with a 2.23 ERA and 2.46 FIP.

SP Curt Murphy signed a 7-year deal with the Astros and led the league with 331 strikeouts.

SP Deshawn Togba, now with the Rangers, moved up to 18th all time with 3647 strikeouts. He is under contract for two more seasons.

Three minor league teams finished with 100 or more wins, including the perennial losers Orem Owlz

The Los Angeles Angels were the worst MLB team, going 68-94 and finishing in 116th place. They had the 28th highest payroll in the league.

Teams eliminated:

2073 Season:

The PITTSBURGH PIRATES were World Champions for the first time since 1979, defeating the defending champion Helena Brewers in a 4 game sweep.

The AUGUSTA GREENJACKETS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 54-108, losing a one-game playoff to the Fort Myers Miracle for relegation.

134 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Augusta GreenJackets

A- San Francisco Giants

A Teams Remaining: 19

Giants Affiliates Remaining: 2/5

All Time Record: 4086-4958 (.452)

Best Season: 2045, 95-58, 24th place

Best Hitter: Joel Mitchell (2029-2035)

Mitchell wasn't drafted until the 4216th overall pick in the 2027 draft, but he made a massive impact in his short time with Augusta. In 2034, he won MVP after leading the league with a 1.170 OPS and 10.1 WAR. His 62 home runs were second in the league. Mitchell later signed with the Red Sox, and though he finished his career with 484 home runs, he never recreated his peak season.

Best Pitcher: Jamie Moore (2058-2073)

The Massachusetts native spent his entire career with the GreenJackets, for better or for worse. In 2062, his fourth full season, he posted a 2.19 ERA. His 104 wins are second most in team history. But after signing a massive extension in 2068, he struggled. Just two years later, his ERA was north of 6.00, and he was soon moved to the bullpen. Spending $23,000,000 on such a poor player was a death note for the team. Moore retired after this season, and his team was sent to the Pit.

Notes:

24-year-old Lehigh Valley 2B Mike Dailey led the league with a .374 batting average and 67 doubles in his first full season. Excluding the 2018 and 2019 seasons when the league was incredibly unbalanced, it was tied for the most doubles ever in a season.

Clinton LF Randy Powell led the league with 55 home runs.

Albuquerque SS Phil Jones led the league with 10.0 WAR, winning his second consecutive MVP.

Great Lakes SP Jon Roberts led the league with a 2.27 ERA.

Montgomery SP Zach Fritz led the league with 287 strikeouts.

Toronto SP Dave Morris was the only pitcher in the league with more than three complete games.

Quad Cities SP Dan Duffy had one of the worst seasons ever by a starting pitcher. He went 4-19 with an 8.03 ERA and walked a league worst 129 batters. He had a 2.12 WHIP and was worth -2.1 WAR in 27 starts.

SP Deshawn Togba, retired following the season. He had 3749 strikeouts, good for 11th all time.

The Helena Brewers were the best MiLB team, going 105-57 and finishing in second place.

The Seattle Mariners were the worst MLB team, going 70-91 and finishing in 111th place with the 14th highest payroll.

Teams eliminated:

2074 Season:

The BALTIMORE ORIOLES were World Champions, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks in 6 games. The Orioles won an absurd 123 games this season

The BILLINGS MUSTANGS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 57-107, four games behind the Hartford Yard Goats for relegation.

133 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Billings Mustangs

Rookie- Cincinnati Reds

Rookie Teams Remaining: 12

Reds Affiliates Remaining: 5/6

All Time Record: 4127-5080 (.448)

Best Season: 2063, 94-57, 19th place

Best Hitter: Si-Xun Shang (2021-2030)

Shang entered the league as a 28-year-old free agent from Taiwan in 2021. Instead of going to one of the league's larger markets, he chose to bring his talents to Montana. Though he only once finished above .500, Shang put up some impressive numbers. He hit 408 home runs in just 9 full seasons, and his OPS was above 1.000 in each of his first 5 years in the league.

Best Pitcher: Seung-Jun Kwun (2021-2027)

The same offseason that they signed Shang, the Mustangs made a big splash and signed Kwun out of South Korea. He made only 13 starts his first year, but he had an impressive 1.79 ERA. The next season, he placed 6th in Cy Young voting after winning 20 games with a 2.54 ERA. Unfortunately, the good times weren't meant to last. Kwun posted ERAs above 5.00 in both 2025 and 2026. His peripherals were decent, and he was able to latch on with the Trenton Thunder and later the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes before retiring in 2033. He was worth over 40 WAR despite a career ERA well above 4.00.

Notes:

Erie CF Olivber (not a typo) Hames led the league with a .381 batting average.

Columbus LF Mike Behnken led the league with 53 home runs, 8.3 WAR, and 1.080 OPS.

Arizona SP Mike Iverson led the league with a 2.49 ERA.

Montgomery SP Zach Fritz led the league in strikeouts for the second consecutive year with 303.

The Orioles had six batters hit at least 39 home runs.

Braves 2B Phil Dumont continues to rise up all time lists, finishing the season with 597 homers and just under 100 WAR.

Giants SP Sonny Lovett moved up to 19th all time with 3647 strikeouts. The 35 year old can easily move into the top 10 by the end of next season.

The Omaha Storm Chasers were the best MiLB team, going 109-53 and finishing in third place.

The Seattle Mariners were the worst MLB team, going 66-96 and finishing in 123rd place.

2075 Season:

The BOISE HAWKS were World Champions, defeating the Rochester Red Wings in 6 games. It was the first time ever that two MiLB teams faced off in the World Series.

The IOWA CUBS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 51-110, six games behind the Spokane Indians for relegation. Just a decade ago I picked Iowa to be the league's next dynasty after stockpiling high draft picks. Needless to say, it didn't quite pan out.

132 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Iowa Cubs

AAA- Chicago Cubs

AAA Teams Remaining: 22

Cubs Affiliates Remaining: 0/5

Iowa, Tennessee, Myrtle Beach, South Bend, and Eugene have all been eliminated, so the Cubs become the first team to have all of their affiliates relegated to the Pit.

All Time Record: 4403-4964 (.470)

Best Season: 2047, 96-65, 19th place

Best Hitter: Joey Fechter (2040-2052)

A former 5th rounder, Fechter became one of the league's all time greats. He hit over 40 homers 11 consecutive years, and his 860 career home runs trail only Mike Trout and Cody Bellinger. His career batting average was just .226, he walked 1800 times in his career. Fechter was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2070, and the Cubs retired his number 54.

Best Pitcher: Sam Brumbaugh (2062-2070)

One of the rewards of the team's rebuild, Brumbaugh is the team's all time leader in wins and WAR. His best season came in 2067, when he finished 3rd in Cy Young voting with a 2.58 ERA and 239 strikeouts. At the 2070 trade deadline, the Cubs traded Brumbaugh to Winston-Salem in exchange for two pitching prospects, neither of whom panned out. He currently pitches for the Birmingham Barons and has an outside shot at the Hall of Fame.

Notes:

Lehigh Valley 2B Mike Dailey led the league with a .377 batting average.

Detroit 1B Luis Salazar led the league with 53 home runs

Baltimore SS Luis Soto led the league with 8.9 WAR and a 1.096 OPS.

Louisville SP Sean "The Dude" Clark led the league with a 2.13 ERA and 2.30 FIP, winning his second straight Cy Young award.

Montgomery SP Zach Fritz led the league in strikeouts for the third consecutive year with 309. He was worth 8.9 WAR and had 27 out of 33 quality starts.

Astros SP Curt Murphy struck out 197 batters with just 9 walks.

On April 6th, Braves 2B Phil Dumont hit his 600th career home run.

The Boise Hawks had three starting pitchers with ERAs under 3.00.

The Tampa Bay Rays were the worst MLB team, going 68-93 and finishing in 114th place.

I have just added another league with two subleagues to my very first OOTP 19 dynasty/saved game. I am using the first 16 teams that were listed in this thread as falling into the Pit of Despair for that league. The current year in that game's world is 1875, and probably within another five or six seasons, I will create other leagues with the above-listed teams.

All credit, of course, for this particular concept goes to camly, although I don't yet have separate away uniforms for the first 16 teams. I will likely have to copy them from certain OOTP 18-related folders over to certain OOTP 19-related folders later for that to be the case, however.

I am still in the midst of copying a lot of files between computers, so it may be a while before the teams in the Supreme Columbian League have all their proper uniforms, to be sure. Thanks for sharing this conceptual idea with us, camly.

That is all for now, at least, I think. CD out.

2076 Season:

The BALTIMORE ORIOLES won their second World Series in three years, defeating the New York Yankees in 7 games. It was a hard fought series, but the O's rolled in Game 7 to a 12-2 series clinching victory.

The COLUMBIA FIREFLIES were relegated to the Pit of Despair after a wild finish. They finished 63-99 in an unprecedented 6-way tie for last place. Columbia, Pensacola, New Hampshire, Trenton, Louisville, and Midland all finished with the same record so I decided to set up a bracket with seeding based on run differential. Columbia lost three straight games to the Blue Wahoos, Fisher Cats, and finally the Thunder.

131 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Columbia Fireflies

A- New York Mets

A Teams Remaining: 18

Mets Affiliates Remaining: 3/6

All Time Record: 4446-5084 (.467)

Best Season: 2057, 102-59, 4th place

Best Hitter: Steve Marble (2052-2063)

The Colorado native was the best hitter on some impressive Columbia teams. Marble hit 40 home runs 4 consecutive seasons from 2057 to 2060, and he finished his career with 516 of them. Though his .335 OBP isn't particularly impressive, Marble had incredible power. He signed a 5-year deal with the Yankees in 2063, but with declining numbers he was traded to Kansas City before the deal was up. After bouncing around for a couple years, Marble retired in 2072 as a 56.5 WAR player.

Best Pitcher: Juan Quintanilla (2059-2073)

After signing an amateur deal out of Cuba in 2053, Quintanilla spent nearly his entire career with the Fireflies, save for 16 poor starts with the Stone Crabs in his final season. His 160 wins and 131 losses are both first in team history. His best season came at age 34 in 2071. He went 17-8 with a 3.14 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Though he was never much of a strikeout pitcher, he always had great command of the strike zone, only once walking more than 2.0 batters per 9 innings in a season.

Notes:

Charlotte SS Mike Musial led the league with a .390 batting average and 8.7 WAR.

Quebec native Murdock Bacote became the next in a long line of Missoula great sluggers. He led the majors with 66 home runs, 1.082 OPS, and 141 RBI.

Angels RF and Winnipeg native Murdoch (with an 'h') Dugles led the league with 68 stolen bases. It was the most steals in a season since Jian-cheng Mah stole 75 ten years earlier.

Winston-Salem's RF Davin Hulsley and Omaha's 3B JD Ruth tied for the league lead with 247 strikeouts.

Orem SP Ryoichi Kobayashi led the league with a 2.35 ERA.

Kannapolis SP Trejyn Walker led the league with 293 strikeouts.

Astros SP Curt Murphy struck out his 3000th batter this August. The 33 year old is the latest pitcher to make a run for the all time record.

Phil DuMont, now with Oklahoma City, finished the season with 650 career home runs, good for 29th all time.

The Bluefield Blue Jays were the best MiLB team, going 99-63 and finishing in 6th place.

The Boston Red Sox were the worst MLB team, going 73-89 and finishing in 103rd place.

2077 Season:

The BALTIMORE ORIOLES won yet another World Series, defeating the Chicago Cubs in 5 games. It was their third title in four years.

The CLEARWATER THRESHERS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 54-107, three games behind the Winston-Salem Dash for last place.

130 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Clearwater Threshers

High A- Philadelphia Phillies

High A Teams Remaining: 18

Phillies Affiliates Remaining: 3/5

All Time Record: 4689-5000 (.484)

Best Season: 2053, 97-64, 13th place

Best Hitter: Jonathan Fisher (2056-2067)

The UCLA grad was a first rounder by the Threshers in 2056. He had a cup of coffee in the majors that year, going 1-2 with a homer. He was up for good in 2059, a year in which he hit 38 home runs and slugged .552. It was his first of nine seasons with 30 or more dingers, and he finished with 434 in total. His atrocious fielding in right limited him to just 32 WAR and kept him out of the Hall of Fame unfortunately.

Best Pitcher: Jimmy Graff (2022-2032)

One of the league's all time greats, Graff threw a no hitter against the Orioles in just his sixth career start. Though he never tossed another, his 19 strikeout performance against Syracuse on the 4th of July, 2028 was a game for the ages as well. Graff led the league with a 2.18 ERA in 2027, and five years later he won the Cy Young award with 287 strikeouts and a league best 9.8 WAR. He later signed with the Rockies, where he won his only ring in 2035. A fourth ballot hall of famer, Graff's 3248 strikeouts are right behind Chris Sale for 43rd all time.

Notes:

Altoona LF Mike White led the league with a .368 batting average.

Yankees 1B Eric Pinkerton led the league with 60 home runs.

Tulsa 3B Luis "Filbert" Arteaga won MVP after leading the league with 8.9 WAR.

Angels RF Murdoch Dugles led the league once again in stolen bases, this time with 67.

Timber Rattlers 3B Amari Shabazz walked an absurd 133 times. He had a .207 batting average and .370 OBP.

66ers LF Jim McEldowney had a 38 game hitting streak, the longest in 14 years.

White Sox SP Jon Coronado had one of the best seasons in history. He won the pitching triple crown by going 20-4 with a 1.78 ERA and 338 strikeouts. It was the most Ks in a single season since Kershaw and Syndergaard each struck out 343 in 2020.

Ageless Astros ace Curt Murphy struck out 282 batters while walking just 19. He now has 3337 in his career, one punchout behind Steve Murray and in striking distance of several hall of famers including Greg Maddux and Pat Grebe.

Greenville SP Karlen Lambarjian lost 25 games.

Rockies RF Jorge Quintana finished the season 20th all time with 668 home runs. The 37 year old Dutch native (despite the name) has a shot at cracking the all time top 10 and joining such names as Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, and Josh Burgert.

The Durham Bulls were the best MiLB team, going 97-64 and finishing in 9th place.

The Tampa Bay Rays were the worst MLB team, going 68-93 and finishing in 116th place.

Teams eliminated:

2018: Princeton Rays

2078 Season:

The BALTIMORE ORIOLES continued their reign of terror on the league. They won their fourth World Series in five years, defeating the Detroit Tigers in 5 games.

The PULASKI YANKEES were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 57-105, one game behind the Hartford Yard Goats for last place.

129 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Pulaski Yankees

Rookie- New York Yankees

Rookie Teams Remaining: 11

Yankees Affiliates Remaining: 3/6

All Time Record: 4398-5454 (.446)

Best Season: 2073, 101-60, 4th place

Best Hitter: Juan Rojas (2025-2039)

Rojas signed a large contract as an amateur from the Dominican Republic in 2021. Four years later, he was in Pulaski. After two brief cups of coffee, he hit 37 home runs as a 22-year-old rookie in 2027. In his 15 seasons with the team, he hit 498 more and was worth 51 WAR. He bounced around for a couple years as a below replacement level player before retiring in 2042. He recorded his 500th career home run and 2000th career hit at the same time in April 2040. His number 0 was retired by the team.

Best Pitcher: Brad Hargrove (2041-2048)

The Ohio native won the Cy Young at age 24 in 2044 after posting a 2.35 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. But his best season may have came 4 years later. Though he only won 6 of his 33 starts on an atrocious Pulaski team, Hargrove had a 2.85 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and struck out 12.1 batters per 9 innings. He signed a large free agent deal with the Rangers in 2049, but injuries sadly derailed the rest of his career. He retired in 2055, and the Veterans Committee later put him in the Hall of Fame.

Notes:

Cleveland RF Mike Watts led the league with a .374 batting average.

Lansing LF Eddie Fancher led the league with 57 home runs and 8.4 WAR.

Angels RF Murdoch Dugles stole 62 bases to lead the league for the third straight year.

The Oakland A's were projected by OSA to be the worst team in the entire league and be the first MLB team relegated to the pit of despair. They finished 84-78.

LF Chris Hohn retired following the season with 3422 career strikeouts. This put him second all time, behind only Tanner Witt and his 3507.

Nationals SP Chris Wind led the league with a 2.41 ERA and 8.7 WAR.

Midland SP Pete Hunt led the league with 298 strikeouts.

Astros pitcher Curt Murphy struck out 269 batters while walking just 19. He now has 3606 in his career, good for 24th all time. A good season next year will vault him into the top 10. He will be a free agent this offseason.

RF Jorge Quintana signed a two year deal with the Dodgers and hit 30 home runs, finishing the season with 698. He will be the 13th member of the 700 club next year, and he has a good shot at passing Babe Ruth.

The Lansing Lugnuts were the best MiLB team, going 95-67 and finishing in 10th place.

The Cincinnati Reds were the worst MLB team, going 66-96 and finishing in 121st place. Their farm system is 123rd out of 129. It should be an interesting few years for the team.

2079 Season:

The TRENTON THUNDER won their first title in league history, defeating the Quad Cities River Bandits in 6 games.

The WEST MICHIGAN WHITECAPS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 49-112, nine whole games behind the Ogden Raptors for last place.

128 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: West Michigan Whitecaps

A- Detroit Tigers

A Teams Remaining: 17

Tigers Affiliates Remaining: 2/5

All Time Record: 4574-5436 (.457)

Best Season: 2040, 100-62, 10th place

Best Hitter: Tim Waters (2067-2078)

A former #9 overall pick, Waters became known for his ability to get on base. He walked 102 times in 2069, and he led the league in 2071 with a .469 OBP. But he also has plenty of power in his bat. He has hit exactly 33 home runs in each of the past four seasons. This past offseason, he signed a four year deal with the Minnesota Twins, putting the final nail in the coffin for the Whitecaps' relegation.

Best Pitcher: Kevin Hoss (2020-2029)

Hoss truly was a hoss in his years with West Michigan. Though his teams were never competitive, he won 78 games with a 3.35 ERA. His best season came in 2026, when he had a 2.30 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. In 2030, he signed with the White Sox where he won 129 games and pitched perhaps even better. He retired in 2038 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Notes:

Tacoma RF Ernesto Rebolledo led the league with a .374 batting average.

36 year old White Sox LF Kabuto "Chevito" Kawamata led the league with 56 home runs. He has only played three seasons in the league, but he has hit at least 54 home runs in all of them.

Fort Myers LF Bobby Ligon led the league with a .455 OBP and 11.0 WAR.

After four titles in five years, the Orioles finished a disappointing 95-66 and in 19th place.

Fire Frogs SP Luis Orosco led the league with a 2.34 ERA.

White Sox SP Jon Coronado won his second Cy Young after striking out 313 batters with a 2.56 ERA.

Curt Murphy signed a three year deal with the Tigers in the offseason, where he struck out 256 more batters and led the league with 5 complete games and a 0.86 WHIP. He now has 3682 strikeouts, putting him 10th all time. He has led the league in K/BB four years in a row and 9 out of the last 10. This could be the greatest pitcher of all time.

The Yankees hit 310 home runs as a team. They had 6 players hit at least 30.

MiLB teams took up the top four spots in the league standings, a first.

The Seattle Mariners were the worst MLB team, going 70-91 and finishing in 103rd place.

2080 Season:

The TRENTON THUNDER won the World Series for the second year in a row, defeating the Oklahoma City Dodgers in 7 games. The Thunder are the first MiLB team to win multiple championships.

The ST. LUCIE METS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 56-106, one game behind the Chattanooga Lookouts for last place.

127 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: St. Lucie Mets

High A- New York Mets

High A Teams Remaining: 17

Mets Affiliates Remaining: 2/6

All Time Record: 4746-5428 (.466)

Best Season: 2034, 101-61, 11th place

Best Hitter: Luis Olivas (2052-2068)

Taken in 2052 as the #1 overall pick, Olivas spent his entire career in St. Lucie. His teams only finished with a winning record three times, but the second baseman still put together a solid career. He won a Silver Slugger in 2057 after posting 7.4 WAR with 34 home runs and a .412 OBP. He had 2371 hits in his career and 393 home runs. He retired in 2068 as the team's leader in virtually every offensive category.

Best Pitcher: Steve Murray (2058-2065)

Murray is one of the league's all time greats. He struck out 300 batters four times, including a career best 335 in 2065. He had 3338 strikeouts in his career with a 3.15 ERA. He signed a huge deal with the Phillies in 2066 and won the Cy Young 2 years later, winning 21 games with a 2.24 ERA and 9.4 WAR. Murray was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2080 wearing a St. Lucie Mets cap.

Notes:

Burlington Bees 2B Sergio Isern led the league with a .380 batting average and 66 stolen bases.

Black Bears 1B Arturo Ledesma led the league with 53 home runs and a 1.085 OPS.

Trenton RF Jonathan Chapman led the league with 9.1 WAR.

Williamsport 1B Ignacio Castillo hit .189 with 45 home runs and 256 strikeouts.

Lehigh Valley SP Jim Warren led the league with a 2.26 ERA.

White Sox SP Jon Coronado won his third Cy Young after leading the league with 333 strikeouts, 2.19 FIP, and 9.2 WAR.

Tigers SP Curt Murphy posted a disappointing 4.30 ERA in his age 37 season. He still struck out 210 batters to move up to 10th all time with 4077. Barring injuries, he could easily move into the top 6 next year and potentially top 3 by the end of his career.

The Yankees hit 321 home runs as a team. They had 10 players hit at least 20.

The Oakland Athletics were the worst MLB team, going 78-84 and finishing in 76th place. It was the best worst performance by a Major League team in quite some time.
