ESPN is going to play this highlight on a loop for 60 minutes and call it SportsCenter for about a week.

Yea. Thats just what I know. Seeing Red Sox homers and hearing Joe Morgan all week long. Talk about pouring salt on it.

Was pretty fun to watch, thought I was incorrectly tuned in to the HR Derby there for a while. Think they said they hit all four in ten pitches.

I like that the Twins are on the short list (5) of teams who have done this in MLB history.

Second time Drew has been in a back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

And I liked the fact that the only other pitcher to give up 4 in a row gave up one of them to Francona's dad!

Yikes! Wright was throwing batting practice to those guys. After the fourth one left the yard, I knew it wasn't gonna be the Yankees' night. However, the Dodgers going yard four times against the Padres last year was more remarkable because of the timing of the game.

Eddie Mathews, the Hammer, and the original Big Hurt. Adcock and you have the recipe for a major league explosion.

Held, Ramos, Francona and Brown? The odds of that quartet accomplishing this feat are astronomical. Yeah, I realize they're already pretty steep.

Interesting that 3 of the five occurred during the early sixties when pitching dominated at historic levels.

Pedro Ramos won 117 games in a career that spanned 16 seasons. He hit only 15 HR's in 703 career at bats. Was a lousy hitter, poor even for a hurler, with a career BA of .155.

Tito Francona had below average power, even adjusted for his era, with only 125 career home runs in 5,121 at bats.

Larry Brown was a no-hit/good glove shortstop. Totaled 47 HR's in 3,449 at bats.

Woodie Held was the only member of the quartet with above average power.

It's stuff like this that makes baseball so freaking awesome.

I almost saw something just as rare Friday at the Cubs-Cards game Friday. Henry Blanco, our backup catcher, almost bunted into a triple play. Henry thought he had bunted it foul, and the catcher ran into Blanco while picking up the ball as Blanco stood in the batter's box looking foolish. After Lou did some arguing, they ended up calling Blanco out on hitter's interference and allowing the runners to stay at 1st and 2nd. It was pretty crazy.
