Salary Cap Violation Attempt #2
I posted this before with no response... while this is probably not as important to some people it is critical to me, because I would like to replicate the NFL financial system in MLB...
I have set a salary cap of $85m and while simming the second season i noticed some computer teams payrolls (in some cases it was just the player payrolls that were higher and in others the sum of player and staff payrolls) to be higher than the cap... I checked this at different times of the season.. during the regular season, after jan 1st, after feb 1st... etc... and the violation continues... Is this a bug or am i missing something? <!-- / message --> |

Maybe OOTP counts the salary cap as a soft cap? What happens at the end of the season, is there a roster purge to get under that cap before the next season roles over?

In the manul it states:
Salary Cap Sets a cap on team salaries. Total team salaries must be below this figure. The computer will disallow any contract offer or trade if it would put a team over the salary cap during the current year or the following year. I interpret this to mean a hard cap... |

Yup. Sounds hard to me. Hopefully the same goes for FA signings.

Team OOTP,
any comments... would seem to me that this is a significant issue since it affects competitive balance... |
