Markus, I am using 3-years - love the 'randomness' instead of just a reenactment

But in 1891, my AI manager is playing Ed Delahanty at SS - all 46 games - and he has made 44 errors in those 46 starts - he is an outfielder with no rating at SS. Team has 2 SSs and 3 others rated at SS.... According to BaseballReference he did not play SS until 1894 - out of the 3 year range - I put my league file up on your FTP site - TVA.zip - with a readme.doc in it....

How about having the AI assign the players so that the it has the highest average for defensive rating for the players starting that day. That should eliminate the insertion of unskilled players in most cases.
