Fictional League - Team Budgets change

I put together a 20 team fictional league. Before the first draft but after i created the league I went through each teams page and changed the logo and entered in my own numbers for market size, fan interest, fan loyalty, and team budget.

I went through the draft and noticed afterwards that the team budgets changed for all the teams. No reason or pattern, it looks like the market size also changed for the teams. I'm assuming i missed a step or something like that rather then a glitch.

If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated

Not sure why it does that. Noticed that as well.

I wait 'till after the initial draft to input/change that stuff now.

I was thinking of simming through the first season anyway...just to see what the league looks like. I'll fix it for next season

If you are trying to set up small market teams and big market teams it will ebb and flow over the years and sometimes very quickly. Market size will change on you.

If you really want to control market size do it indirectly by controlling the maximum attendance size per team.

Market Size is set by Budget. So when you run an Initial Draft, the Market Size will get set after the Draft based on the total salaries drafted by each team.

Here's a great thread that explains it:

Yes, you have to wait until after your draft to change your market sizes and so on. For new leagues, OOTP bases the market size on the initial team payroll. The theory is that teams with high payrolls would naturally be big market teams, but obviously this makes no sense when you're starting with a draft. But I think the game does this to ensure that teams with high payrolls have a market size to generate the revenue required to pay the bills.
