Quick Option Questions
(1) If I trade for a player who has not used an option year yet this season and immediately assign him to my AAA team, does that count as an option use?
(2) Is there any point between seasons I can move a player from ML to AAA without using an option year? |

Any year a player is on the 40 man roster and spends time in the minor leagues, he should use an option...period....

OK, but this is not how OOTP actually works, is it? I'm almost certain that a player starting the season in the minors and staying there throughout is not charged an option year.

If he's on the forty man roster, he will be charged an option year.

To (maybe) help clarify, it's because you are exercising your "option" to not have him on the active roster for the entire year.
