Should we be spoiling these
I just got the 'Moneyball Award'. It doesn't explain what it is for, but I can guess... |

Mizzou, you saved me the trouble of posting my own image. I just saw one of yours in my game: What the heck is the 3 Strikes achievement for?
By the way, these "cheevos" are growing on me. I like 'em!

He had like 14 K's that game.. I'm guessing it's for K's by a pitcher in a game? There is a bug where it's supposed to show his K's (says %K).

Testament to how lousy the 2013 Astros are. I'm almost at the end of August (simming) and only have one achievement (Chris Carter won April Rookie of the Month). That's it.
Three Strikes isn't for striking out the side. I've had a guy do that a couple times in relief. My guess is that it's for some number of strikeouts in a game. |

I'm thinking it may be for SP's only, but still early on in my season. Verlander just got it and he did record 3 K's in one inning. The achievement read 7 IP 7 hits 3 BB and % K ? Must be a typo

I wish you could find out what it takes to earn an achievement. Some are easy to work out but some that I have earnt I have no idea why I got it.

Here's what I have so far.
I noticed that "On A Roll" is not inclusive. For example, I got the Silver for an 11 game winning streak, but did not get the Bronze for winning 5 at the same time. That was a separate winning streak. Each achievement appeared after the loss that ended the streak. I also noticed that the "Total Achievements Unlocked" number includes multiple instances of one that has already been won before. That's how I get 50 unlocked with only 10 different bronze achievements. My theories on the qualifications for each: Silver On a Roll - Win 10+ Games in a Row Bronze On a Roll - Win 5+ Games in a Row Bronze Slugger - 2 HRs in a Game Crossing the Plate - Score 4 R in a game for a player Putting Up Zeros - CG SHO Team Effort - Score at least 6 runs in an inning Hit Machine - 4 hits in a game Drive'em In - At least 5 RBIs in a game Slugfest - Score at least 15 runs in a game Shutting Them Down - Score 10+ runs while shutting the other team out Batting Around - At least 9 players bat in an inning Last edited by JMDurron; 04-30-2013 at 12:34 PM. |

I agree. I like them, but right now they are only slightly more informative than your boss coming by your office and saying, "great job," then walking away.

I kind of like some of the mystery surrounding them. Definitely a neat feature.
The in-game ones (multi-HR, batting around) only seem to happen when you play out games. As I'm pretty sure I've had a pitcher hit 10 Ks before, but I only got that playing out a playoff game. I also like how when I was the wildcard, I got the "Sweep" achievement for winning my one playoff game in that round. One game sweep is kind of cheap... |

I wish I had an idea what you needed to do to get different achievements or at least what you did that unlocked a particular achievement after you got it.

2 new Silver Achievements since my last post: "Team Effort" - 10 runs scored in a single inning. This is clearly the lowest level for this achievement, since my bronze version has 9 runs in an inning. "Slugfest" - Scored 20 runs against an opponent. The threshold for this is somewhere between 20 (Silver), and 17 (my highest bronze). |

I can't disagree about the content, but what to do with it begs inquiry. Wouldn't it be great if personnel had histories other than their stats? For example, having slugging and hitting achievements noted under that hitting coach's history? There's room for expansion, and in the interim, there's room for your imagination or clerical energies: write it in your Manager Notes and Reminders. Create/Write a news article that references the team, the coach, the manager, player, whatever reference the Achievement relates to? Edit the personal histories under Accomplishments of that player, etc...

Also, Silver Hit Machine is 5 hits in a game.
