I know I decided not to run the tool on my NCAA league b/c doing so meant that I lost the history files. But that was some time ago in 13.

I just ran the tool on another league in 14 last night and it appeared that the history files were fine.

So something may have changed in 14 or I may have just been wrong on that. Going to run a test right now and find out for sure.

Will post the results here.

Ok, just tested my NCAA league and everything was fine after running the tool. The player text files ids changed correctly, facgen ids, everything.

So you won't lose anything by running the tool.

Sorry for stating that you would and scaring everyone

I do three backups - to an external hard drive, to a different internal hard drive, and to a 32 gig thumb drive. I copy the entire league folder at the end of each season to these three locations.

And I thought my 2-3 backups per season was extreme.

Got you beat. I do that and also also keep a copy of my league in the cloud.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

My father always taught me a valuable lesson: determine how often you will make a backup by how much invested time you are willing to lose if there is an accident or incident. For OOTP and me, that's a week.

I had a weird problem where not all the 2005 rookies imported and I even had some rookies from 2007, 2009 and 2011. My last backup was for January 2004. So I had to go back and sim the 2004 season. Now I backup in January, OD of MLB and after my leagues world series before MLB finishes theirs. This is the 6th time I have replayed this league since i 1st began it on 11. I am still on 13 for now and want to get back to 2012 before switching to 14.
