Exclamation OOTP 20 & PT 20 launch plan!

OK, so here is how we will launch the OOTP 20 beta & the final release next week.

(Note: All of this does NOT apply to OOTP 19 Perfect Team, that will continue to run as usual. And, as mentioned several times before, absolutely nothing from OOTP 19 PT will move over to OOTP 20, except for your login info.)

IMPORTANT: Your current OOTP 18 / 19 Challenge Mode / Perfect Team 19 account will also work in OOTP 20! You do NOT need to create a new account, use the same login in OOTP 20!

Monday, March 18
On Monday morning US time, those who pre-ordered the eSellerate version will receive an email containing download links once the public OOTP 20 beta is available, and we will also post the download links on the forums, so you can still pre-order and access the beta after March 18.

You will be able to create an account (if you do not have one already) and team, however, this is just for the beta! You will NOT be able to buy PP and absolutely everything (PP, cards, team) will be reset on Friday for the official launch, except your login info.

Wednesday, March 20
We will release a public beta OOTP 20 patch which fixes reported problems of the past 2 days.

Friday, March 22 - Official Launch Day
At around 2-3 AM ET (essentially in the middle of the night) we will reset all PT20 teams and shut down simulation servers. Your login info will remain the same, so no need to create a new account after the reset. At around 10 AM ET, the system will be reopened and you can set up your brand new team again, open your starter packs (plus the extra gold pack you get) etc. PP purchase will be available at that time, too. However, simulations will NOT start yet, we don't want Steam & Origin users to be at an disadvantage.

On 1 PM ET the game will officially launch worldwide, on Steam, Origin (NOT for Access Premiere subscribers, EA has scheduled that launch for April 9 ), Mac AppStore and for the webstore customers, all at a 10% launch discount (same as pre-order discount). Download links for the final version will be emailed to pre-order customers. At that time, all users that now have the game can log in or create their accounts and start their teams, load up on PP if needed etc.

On 2 PM ET the first Entry Pool leagues get created and simulations start either exactly at that time or half an hour later.

Monday, March 25 - First promotion round
At the usual time (morning ET) we will start the first PT20 promotion round. This time, we will populate the first three levels (Iron, Bronze Silver) based on team winning % compiled in the entry pool. Teams with less than 30 games in the Entry Pool will automatically start at the Iron level. Simulations will begin 10 AM ET, as usual.

In the evening (8 PM ET) we will have the first live Twitch show where we reveal new (& absolutely awesome) PT20 content, here's the link to our channel: https://www.twitch.tv/OOTPDevelopments/

Friday, March 29
On Friday (1 PM ET) the 10% launch week discount will end. Later during the day, the special offer of a bonus Gold Pack for a PT20 account ends as well.

Monday, April 8
This is the day the 2019 MLB Live cards will receive their first rating update. Probably not many cards will change (small sample size after all), but we'll see.

Okay, that's it! Questions?

Cheers,
Markus

If we create all three allotted teams per license by March 29, will all three get a gold pack or just the first team under that license?

For that first launch weekend Mar 22-24, will there be any playoffs at all? Just as many regular season games as can fit into an abbreviated week's schedule w/ no playoffs?

And once Monday Mar 25 hits and we get on normal cadence, will it be Mon-Fri for the regular season and Sat-Sun for the playoffs?

I doubt it would be any different than the current schedule. Everyone in the entry pool March 22-24 (no playoffs, games sim around the clock), then regular season Monday-Saturday with playoffs Sunday.

Yes. The idea for the whole 3 teams per license was that family members can play together in PT without having to buy the game more than once. And since we don't want brothers Joe and Jim being mad at father Bob, all three will get the Gold Pack.

No playoffs, just Entry Pool play.

eSellerate is the website storefront. If you pre-ordered, it was this version.

If I understand this correctly, on Monday 3/18 we can set up our OOTP 20 teams (names, logos, stadiums, etc) but no packs or players.

On Friday we can open our initial packs and populate the teams with players to begin the sim process.

Thank you

No, not quite. You can log in Monday, set up a team, and we will have entry pool games going through the week. Everything except purchasing PP should be available to use, so you can open packs, use the auction house, sell cards, gain points, etc...

However on Friday, everything will be completely reset (teams, stadiums, cards, etc...) when things will start for real. So don't get too attached to your teams in the beta period.

Well, they should buy before then.

True. As you know, I am always the first one to pre-order every year without fail.

Is the eSellerate version (the one that gets an e-mail today) the same as buying it from the OOTP webstore or something else?

Yes. Anyone who has pre-ordered can download the versions linked and use the license code from the email you got.

Smile Transfer of PT usernames from OTTP19 to OTTP20?

I love Perfect Team! My question revolves around the transfer of PT usernames from OTTP19 to OTTP20. Specifically, I have two OTTP19 licenses, so I have 3 perfect teams for each license. So, currently I have "stans_cpa" through "stans_cpa6" PT teams inside OTTP19.

When I buy OTTP20 on Friday, should I still use "stans_cpa" through "stans_cpa3" so all my stats carryover into new program? (This is my preferred choice, since I've won 2 World Series trophy rooms!) Or, should I create "stans_cpa7" through stans_cpa9"?

Bottom-line, can you please compare and contrast inside new OTTP20/Perfect 2.0:

Option A - "stans_cpa" through "stans_cpa3" (carryover from OTTP19)
vs.
Option B - "stans_cpa7" through stans_cpa9" (newly created inside OTTP20)

In other words, which username/naming convention should I use? What are the pros/cons to each Option A or Option B. Or, is there really only one option that exists?
