Are you looking to raise the average league attendance?
If so - league setup, financials tab, left side. Are you looking to raise your teams attendance? If so - win more ball games, sign popular players. |

An indication of what makes this game great: Say you are on the "hot seat," meaning you know that the owner is unhappy with you and you are very close to being chopped.
Say one of the things he is unhappy about is attendance. Your team is coming along but not good enough yet to win a lot of games and fill seats that way. So, your other choices are to sign a popular (and therefore expensive) player who is going to crush your budget or reduce ticket prices which is going to crush your budget. What do you do?

Lowering ticket prices usually will raise your income, because you're filling out more seats. Sometimes a 10-cent difference in pricing can be the difference between attendance of 35k vs 45k.

I thought I said that.

No, I think he was responding to what I said. He's maintaining that a reduction in ticket price will result in improved attendance, no doubt about that, but also improve revenue by "making it up in volume." Could be - it depends.*
* That is, it depends on how much ticket price is lowered vs. how much of a bump in attendance results. Here are a few examples, using his 35K/45K attendance figures. If you only had to drop ticket price 10% to get that bump: + 35,000.00 attendance * 0.50 cents per ticket --------------- = $17,500.00 revenue + 45,000.00 attendance * 0.45 cents per ticket --------------- = $20,250.00 revenue - you sure are ahead of the game. But if you had to drop ticket price 20% to get that bump: + 35,000.00 attendance * 0.50 cents per ticket --------------- = $17,500.00 revenue + 45,000.00 attendance * 0.40 cents per ticket --------------- = $18,000.00 revenue - you are barely breaking even. And if you had to drop ticket price 30% to get that bump: + 35,000.00 attendance * 0.50 cents per ticket --------------- = $17,500.00 revenue + 45,000.00 attendance * 0.30 cents per ticket --------------- = $13,500.00 revenue - the boss is not going to be happy! This is a simple example because one variable is fixed. The variable, of course, is how much of a bump do you get with every level of ticket price reduction? The answer to that - and why I said "It depends" - is it depends on how successful your team is at the time and how much fan interest does it enjoy.
