Right now I am running the sim through 2035, and even in 2025, amazingly few current good young players are among the league leaders. I saw Wil Myers and Chris Sale pop in the out, and that was it. |

I just played out the sim to 2050, to capture all the Hall of Famers among current real life players, and I did highlight some remarkable things, below.
How about Tulo coming right up to the line and then being turned back! Wow! |

Since he's not up there in that Hall of Fame list, I must ask--how did Bonds do?

Love these, first thing I noticed were the 1899 Cleveland Spiders, the worst team in the history of Baseball were champions that year.

Not only that, but he is extremely popular, even if he won't let you sit in his vibrating clubhouse easy chair. |

The 1983 American League is one of my favorite seasons. See if you can figure out why:

EDIT: Also, it was Bud Selig's team that was the only one under .500 in the East, which warms my heart a little.

What happened to Derek Jeter? You'd think he'd bust tons of records but the only thing he's gotten here is a weak Hall of Fame vote.

However, of the eight players who had more than 10,000 PAs and an OPS+ between 100 and 114, six made the Hall, four of them on writers' vote, so it could have gone either way for Jeter: |

So when you did this, did you have it doing just reserves or did you have it with any minor leagues as well?
What kind of rig did you run this from? Like others, love seeing stuff like this. Will probably do it myself at some point!

You didn't save a quick start did you?
I want to do this so I can go past now and then take over a team.

No quick start is necessary. Just start a historical league in 1871 without minors and let er rip. I recommend turning off pictures and baseball cards to speed things up a bit. |

Just how crazy was the offense in the late 90s?

I know, right? So much of it is about what is baked into the era_stats.txt file.

Just did this myself and it was fun to see all the different stats. All time winningest pitcher? Jim Handiboe. He played 1 season in real life. 457-289 with a 2.45 ERA.
In 1921 Babe Ruth hit 85 Home Runs, a record that still stand. Now going to 2050 so I can take over a team. Thanks for the idea! |

Nice Work!
You really did a great job. thanks for posting all the stats to read.
I can see you probably used Talent Ratings and OOTP Development Engine. Your teams used a draft instead of importing players to their real teams. You turned off real Transactions and did not use real rosters. (ex. Joe DiMaggio only played for the Yankees from 36-42 and again 45-51. and he missed 43-45 due to military service for the war.) Also Lou Gehrig another Yankee lifer played his last game on April 30, 1939 and passed away on the 2nd of June 41. You did use Schedules As Played. And you set the league to evolve on time. Hence the Glorious Browns' move to Baltimore in 54. You did a really nice job. I hope you post the next one to. I'd really like to see how it goes. As for Charlie Beggus, he only played one season of professional base ball with the Washington Nationals in the Union League in 1884, the only year the league existed. They finished 10th 46 1/2 games behind the St.Louis Maroons, who won the pennant with a record of 94 and 19 21 games ahead of 2nd place Cincinnati Outlaw Reds. True ML History does not begin until 1901 in OOTP. I think that is to bad because there was a lot of great history in the 30 years prior to that. Like Charles Albert "The Old Roman" Comiskey who was player/manager for Chris von der Ahe's St.Louis Brown Stockings/Browns In the American Association in the 1880's. They won 4 A.A. pennants from 1885-88. They tied Cap Anson's NL White Stockings in 85 Original World Series 3W-3L-1T and defeated them 4games to 2 in 86, Before Lossing the next two World Series to Bill Watkins's Detroit Wolverines and James Mutrie's New York Giants. They jumped over to the National League in 1892 and took the name Cardinals in 1900. As you may already know, Comiskey was Player/Manager of the Chicago Pirates of the Player's League for it's lone season in 1890, which was form by the first players' union the Brotherhood of Professional Base-Ball Players. It was their first failed attempt to get rid of the reserve clause. As you can see I love early base ball history and would love to be able to play a true virsion of that period in time. Sorry I got carried away. Seeing what you accomplished with your league inspires me to make an attempt at trying to create that 30 years of missing history. Great job chucksabr, hope to read your stats on the next one.
