Updating ratings to current stats?

Do you guys use it when starting a new franchise? It looked a a bit unrealistic to me at first, but on further checking it looks very balanced? do you use it?

How does one accomplish this? Is it through the Live Start module?

i guess live start does the same thing, but i want full season experience. you start a standard game go to mlb drop menu, select league settings, and in popular functions click update ratings using live stats
