Not a newbie, but a newbie question

Not at all new to OOTP, been playing since '06 (loved the ITTP baseball, that was neat). I do have a newbie question though. So I started a historical game with historical minors in 1991. Everything looked great, got to the end of the season. When the am. draft pool was created, there are no real players whatsoever. The top draft prospects are Jeremy "Lizard" Davidson, and "Hatsuhiko Kurita". I have automatically import historical rookies turned on. I guess my question is this: With minor league historical rosters, are historical players assigned to whatever minor league team they made their debut on? EX, will Albert Pujols show up on the Peoria Chiefs in 2000, or wouldn't he show up in the draft pool in 2000, or do I likely have some setting off. The AM draft is in December in my game.

if you have a draft, the players go into the draft pool so anyone can try to get them. If you don't have a draft, they will go to the teams where they debuted in the major leagues. There is a setting in the league settings for that. i am not on a computer with my game so i am not certain which tab it's under right now but it's under league settings, so you shouldn't have any issues finding it. (How the minors affect all that now that they are historical, i am not quite certain yet but i think i read somewhere they may go to the minor league team they started with......) hope this helps a bit. in the morning i'll be back to my regular computer and will be able to find exactly where those setting are in you still need to know by then.

if you want players to go to the teams they started with - the settings are League settings>historical then click automatically import historical rookies.

you must have draft disabled for them to go to their specific teams. that setting in under League settings>Rules. You can only enable or disable the draft in the pre-season.

so if you have draft enabled and historical import of rookies - they should show up in the draft, and not go to specific teams. i don't play that era (i'm doing way back 1903 right now) so not certain what's going on. i know in the draft i'm doing, historical players are in my draft. Maybe someone with more knowledge can pinpoint your issue. Sorry couldn't be more help. Good luck.
