Names, Ethnicities, Nations Question
Hi everyone. Well it's obvious that I didn't proofread my forum name lol. So I just started with OOTP 16, and I have never played any previous versions.
I don't even know most of the major league players these days so I am going to go to a fictional league because so many people think it is a lot of fun.
I was trying to follow along with the manual, and I figured out how to change names in the database (first names, names text files).
I noticed there is an ethnicities.txt file as well. I understand that the language ID ties into the naming files and so on. However, within the actual ethnicities file, I just wanted to confirm first that the numbers beside the language ID stand for the facegen relative frequency that sums to 1000. So does this mean that for the US modern ethnicity (see a few lines down), the facegens would be 40% African, 1% Asian, 1% East Indian, 50% Caucasian and 8% Hispanic?
0,U.S. (Modern),400,10,10,500,80,
So even if I didn't change any names, and a league consisted of all "Joe Smith" named players, 40% would appear to be of African ethnicity on their face gen picture, and 8% of the pictures would appear to be of Hispanic ethnicity? Or am I not understanding that part correctly?
My next question, and probably the one I'm most unclear about is how I would go about making it so that the names were appropriate for their ethnicity. So that let's say someone with the last name Rodriguez wouldn't appear to be East Indian or Asian? How does the game speak to that? The manual refers to the nations.txt, but I can't find that in the ootp16 database directory.
