Question about Scouting Director Recommendation
Love this game, but I do have one burning question. During the draft, how exactly does the Scouting Director Recommendation work? I have used it on the first round pick, and it suggests a player with 0.5 star rating and 3 star potential while there are players available with 5 and 4.5 star potential. Then sometimes it will suggest a player with 0.5 star potential while there are 4 star potential.
I'm just wondering how exactly the scout comes to this recommendation when clearly it's suggesting players with far less potential? Thanks for any help! |

No, no one knows. But here are some considerations: scouting accuracy (you might set that to 100% and compare his selections to satisfy your curiosity), scouting ability (this has been debated whether there is actually enough effect, but ymmv), and lastly, in the spirit of personality and immersion, that's what management relationships are all about. Does he prove his value to you in an ability to see something you don't? Does he ensure pick after pick that you continue to degrade your confidence in his position?
More than you were seeking probably, but FWIW. My gut instinct, after a fair share of examination, says he looks at three things, though I'd only speculate at their weight: present needs, remaining candidates, and unknown to him, the AI Eval settings.

I've never trusted my scouting director, at least when it comes to the top end of the draft, I start using him more when I'm getting into the later rounds some, but mostly as a starting point, and then I do some comparisons with similar players to what he suggests, to see if I can find a similar position, but better player.
