I'm aware that the "Neutralized" stats in the Spritze DB are in fact not neutered. However they have more volume generally then the "Real" stats for the same players, particularly for Negro Leaguers.

The volume knob there goes to 11.
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and... Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten? Nigel Tufnel: Exactly. Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder? Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where? Marty DiBergi: I don't know. Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do? Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven. Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder. Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder? Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

The Spritze database only contains MLE's for minor, negro, Japanese and Korean players. The MLB stats there are Real.

If I will be manually importing players from your DB for Negro Leagues etc then I must use Neutralized Stats.

Here's the thing. Set game to Neutralized Stats, there will be more volume (PA, AB) for Negro Leaguers to base their stats and therefore their ratings on. Even though the "Neutralized Stats" in Spritze database aren't really neutralized. They are Minor League Equivalents (MLEs), which is an ingenius way to do it. Set game to Real Stats, there will be less volume for these players. So it's up to you. Neutralized Stats issue with HoF OF like Cobb, Burkett playing a crappy 1B has been resolved according to Spritze, so that's a plus in the Neutralized Stats column.

Today I ran a with neutralized, straight historical (not random) from 1901 to 1937. Used one year recal, injuries on low, fatigue set to average, weaken/adjust ser to 200/100 and 40/20. Development off, players retire as in real life. 2 way players off. All other settings set to default.
Extremely pleased with results. 9 players seasons of batting Average at or above .400 (high was .439). Only one player hit over 50 HR (52HR—-140 game schedule). I’m very pleased and set up a league using pretty much the above settings. |

I have joined the club, I am methodical going thru a 5 year recalc Stats frozen in 76. I am liking what I am seeing so far but may have set my weaken/adjust settings far too high. Want get at least a few a more seasons in then try importing a few NLers, maybe I will get better with importing , as miracles do occasionally happen in real life. I can attest to this because I was able to recover the league from the scrap heap and setup my unaffiliated AAA leagues without the infiltration of fictional players. May have to change fatigue and injury settings.

I just imported two Negro League players into a OOTP 19 Historical League...Random debut w/neutralized stats. I used the Spritze HS DB for OOTP 17, which by the way seemed to work with OOTP 18.
Here is what I got for the Neutralized career stats: Pop Lloyd - .396 career AVE and 1.963 career OPS Jesse Douglas - .459 & 2.097 His DB is not yet compatible with OOTP 19; hopefully soon...

Me too. I'm going to be trying Injuries of Very High (M*A*S*H* unit settings) with Average fatigue next. I found High injuries with Average fatigue yielded plate appearance leaders that were a bit high, and High injuries High fatigue yielded plate appearance leaders that seemed too low. We'll see how it goes. Now there's the September 1st roster expansion issue, which apparently can only be corrected on...you guessed it...September 1st. Ugh. So many delays, so little time.

And where is this Spritze DB and is it OOTP 19 ready? I can't keep track of all these great things.

Looks like we will have roster expansion after the next patch. My current plan is to wait for the new database(s) from Sir Spritze before starting my real league. Would like to get ~25 years into my test league. Will have more time after the weekend the minor hockey team my son is coaching finishes their season on Sunday.
