Facegen Question

Is it still a requirement that the facegen file be in a certain format so that it would automated in game? If so, is there anywayyyy you guys can patch that in to where it will just upload if you have the fg file. I love the game though.

Already done, just put the .fg files in your fg_files folder (with the format: firstname_lastname_dd_mm_yyyy.fg) and the game will pick them up automatically, you no longer need to load them manually.

No im asking is there a way you guys can patch it to where it doesn't have to be in that format. Because all the facegen files that are available are in the regular facegen file that you would use in ootp which Firstname_Lastname.fg. So I'm asking is there a way you guys can make it just to be that format instead of the birthday being included because I dont think anyone is going to go change each name.

No, the birthdate is necessary in our case, mainly because of the repetition of names in the database, particularly in Scandinavia - for common Swedish names like "Johan Andersson" or "Erik Karlsson" there can be 10+ players with that particular name.

I'm sure there will be mods coming out soon that will name the files as needed for the game to load them.

Nope.

And I wouldn't say if I did, since the mods aren't officially supported by us and we could get in trouble due to licensing issues

But people made lots of mods for FHM2, they always make tons of mods for OOTP and I have no doubt they'll make lots of mods for FHM3 as well. Facegen mods for our games are always popular and attract lots of contributors.

It'll just take time. This is the first day the game's officially out, most people are still just peeling back the wrapping paper, so to speak and it takes a while to even start on any kind of big modding project.

This new auto fg import is pointless without the renamed files..

I volunteered to start renaming the .fg files to the proper format but had no takers on the beta forums to help out.. I will not be doing it all myself.
