iOOTP 2014 update?

Three weeks since the last word...what's the status of this?

Just FYI the OOTP Twitter feed put this out yesterday

@ootpbaseball: Apple has unfortunately held up the iOOTP update for something that wasn't an issue in the past, so we're still dealing with it

I wonder if it has to do with the MLB licensing problem that 15 has been forced to deal with.

It has nothing to do with the licensing problem. It has to do with iOOTP's saves being too large for iCloud backups. We don't have iCloud backups enabled with the game because of that, but a reviewer at Apple has rejected the update anyway. Sebastian has tried to repeatedly explain that we have released 4 versions of the game, plus numerous updates, none of which use iCloud backups, but the reviewer keeps insisting the update is in violation of Apple's policies. So, basically, the game was fine last month but now it's not, even though nothing in the update has anything to do with iCloud.

This has happened before, and it ends up requiring Sebastian to keep going back and forth with them until they finally understand the situation.

And I suppose I should have been a little clearer on Twitter, but 140 characters isn't enough for this kind of explanation.

Agreed. I was very impressed by the detail of the FHM release notes. It's definitely lacking for iOOTP releases.

So far, few (or possibly none) of the issues that I've identified in iOOTP13 were fixed/changed in the initial release of iOOTP14. I bought iOOTP14 but, after finding that I didn't have a good reason to switch away from iOOTP13 (I only play historical leagues, so the player editor is not of much interest to me), haven't played it since the week after I bought it. I'll likely download the next free update but might never have a good reason to switch my playing habits away from iOOTP13.

There isn't a ton to say about the iOOTP 2014 update. It will have a new icon, updated rosters, and bug fixes.

It has gone back to Apple, and we're hoping we get a different reviewer who doesn't stall the review for something that isn't a problem, like the last reviewer did.

Yeah, this time it is really frustrating. I submitted it weeks ago but the reviewer we got must be an idi... . Apparently we fail the "iCloud test" (our saves exceed the allowed 2 MB) but we don't even have iCloud support enabled. I tried to explain him that we follow the Apple rules 100%, that the 1.0.0 version was accepted (without any problems!) just 4 weeks ago but he still did not care (in fact, he not even listened). Then he told me he would call me to "fix" the problem in the next 1-3 days but that is now over a week ago. So I just re-submitted the App and hope we get somebody else this time.

My company had to submit an mobile banking app to them complete with steps to login etc
They didn't follow them and the release via the App Store was delayed by about 3-4 weeks

I can't believe every time we're promised an update, it's always delayed by Apple! Steve Jobs should be ashamed!

We want our new icon already, Apple! Come on!
