The WWBL is a great league with a lot of competition and a few of the better teams are currently open due to a switch from v8 to v9. Of the open teams, only Oregon is really a rebuilding project. Ithaca is a pennant contender and Quebec and Dakota are both playoff calibre teams.
Grab one of these teams while you have the chance. |

Just want to say that this is a great league, very active and extremely well run. Sims move fast, and the off season even faster. Very easy to stay involved.

I'm wary because of the 3 times per week simming, but the league sounds interesting.
Is AIM or any other type of instant messaging software required? I visited the website but did not find an answer to this question.

We do use AIM for league meetings, but no one is required to attend. We use it 2-3 times a season. Tonight we have a "Trade Chat" for those wanting to trade and those looking to gain talent. We might meet again in a couple of weeks on AIM before the in-game trade deadline. Again, meetings are not required and there is lots of trading done league wide through email and PMs in the league forums. If you already have an AIM account, you can go to meebo.com. There you can login to your AIM account through meebo's website, no software required. |

I wouldnt mind the Oregon team but I would like to change in to the Corvallis Red Raiders if possible.....got team logo, hat logo, and uniform if that is needed. I just dont like the name "Oregon Pioneers" since they were more as settlers then pioneers. They weren't looking for anything new....they went out and settled for the gold rush! If that is possible....hit me up on here or on aim at Fightin83Irish

There are some good teams still open as we approach the trade deadline.
Ithaca, despite some remarkably bad computer mismanagement is 3 games back in their division and tied for the Wild Card. A human manager would have a great chance of making the playoffs. Dakota was half way through a rebuilding program when they lost their GM. There's some good young pitching and a handful of hitting prospects to build around as well as some useful veteran holdovers. Spokane has the BA #1 overall prospect (C/3B) and two top quality pitching prospects in the organization. That #1 guy, and another high quality bat at 1B will be able to step into major league roles whenever needed. It'll probably take a year or two for the pitchers to be ready. The top guy is a year away, the #2 guy is up wasting service time on a lost cause. There are 2 other good prospects behind those two, both about 2 years away, and 3 other solid 19-21 year old starters in the majors. So the pitching is in place, and there are 2 high quality bats and several useful ones to build around. Last edited by csridgway; 11-20-2008 at 07:07 AM. |
