Yes, a great accomplishment putting a whooping on a team no longer built to be anything more than a perfect league placeholder
Can you do it against Blitzkrieg?

42-52 at the break. Things could be worse. I could have multiple lawsuits for children being bitten, so I'll take it.
Anyways, Justin Turner made the all-star team for the 16th time |

The Terriers finished an underwhelming 73-89. They spent more time digging through the trash cans behind the concession stand then they did in the dugout paying attention to the games. It's partially my fault as I was the one who ok'd the "BBQ ribs for a buck" promotion.
Lesson learned. One small change was made during the season, I sent constant underachiever Trevor Story to the pound and inserted a silver Dave Cash card. He's been trying to learn SS the final few months of the season as that's the weakest spot on the roster. Seeing as the Terriers and the Chefs are sitting on their paws and spatulas this postseason respectively, I figured I'll take the time to explain my 3rd team, the Fort Jefferson Pirates who I've added to my signature.
The Pirates are F2P using only non-live cards. They see-sawed up and down between iron and silver for 21 seasons before finally bottoming out in iron in season 22. That's when I got 2 lucky pack pulls back to back, a 95 Brooks Robinson and a peak 100 Curt Schilling. I sold the Schilling for 415,000 giving me the capital to make upgrades and to do some of the Pittsburgh collection missions which scored me one of my favorite players 86 Pie Traynor. I also picked up 94 Bob Veale, 92 Bob Friend, 94 Eddie Plank, and 96 Bob Lemon from missions. Seeing as I've never had so many points, I kept ripping packs (because it's fun) and kept getting really good players like 100 Bob Gibson, 98 Rob Dibble, 97 Cy Young, 95 Mickey Mantle, 95 Satchel Paige, 94 Dwight Gooden, amongst many other awesome gold pulls. I also snatched up some players from the AH that I wanted to play the game with like 100 Bob Feller, 91 Paul Waner, and 90 Wilbur Cooper. The funny thing is after all that, I still had just as many points as I started with from selling unwanted live cards or selling off collection rewards which leads me into what I finally splurged on 2 nights ago..... a 100 Elmer Flick which I bought for 303k. Anyways, the Pirates have been in perfect for 3 seasons now and are sitting in a much better position than Hiram College or Ohio City to make a run at a perfect title. I'm actually really excited to see how next season goes having a big-bopper like Elmer Flick in right field for the whole season Last edited by gemini615; 11-17-2019 at 08:24 PM. |

Is there a 94 Dwight Gooden or Is it a typo? I've seen 98 & 100.

Or a cokehead in and out of rehab, heh. Hmm, 1988, don't think he'd been busted at that point? Last edited by Lemandria; 11-18-2019 at 01:12 AM. |

41-54 at the break and riding an 8 game losing streak. The positive is that there's a huge amount of terrible teams in the league this year and we're only the 14th worst.
The Terriers do have a small problem that I need to fix, whenever the opponent hits a ball, all the Terriers flock to it and try to pick said ball up in their mouth before anybody else. It's a lot like watching little league games. Anyways, Kirby and Heinie are having very solid seasons but got snubbed from the all star game. Even Gabby could argue a case for attending. Regardless, everyone is staying home for naps this year. |

The Terriers are at that point in the game where we need 1 or 2 more lucky pack pulls to have a consistent chance for the perfect playoffs and championship. I'll keep ripping, but until I get a lucky card or two, we're pretty much lower middle class in perfect.
Anyways, the pooches finished 77-85 with nothing of real note to mention besides a mysterious pile of shredded baseballs I found stashed under the bleachers. I'm not sure who did it, but I don't really care at this point either. He'll be batting lead-off in Hiram with stealing and baserunning sliders jacked up a bit. Unfortunately he'll be learning RF this season as I'm hesitant to move Garry Maddox out of CF right now. |

According to his card it was 192 runs scored in 1894. I suppose it could be different on baseballref since score keeping was pretty wonky back then.
Regardless, I'm assuming he'll help the Terriers improve their consistently pathetic runs scored number. We're always one of the worst in that category despite always having one of the best batting averages. Go figure. |
