Reggie Jackson HOF....KC Athletics?
I noticed that in the game Reggie Jackson was elected to the Hall of Fame as a Kansas City Athletic, even though he only hit 1 HR in Kansas City as an Athletic. I know that he would go on to play many years with the Athletics after they moved to Oakland. The Kansas City part just just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah it doesn't, something I would like to see changed. However it isn't a super big deal.

Probably wise to file a bug report in the bug reports sub forum... but I have not seen this before, so maybe just an isolated incident

I'll file one later today when I have more time. Never filed one before, so Ill have to read up on how to do it. Also I know I had the issue in the later updates of OOTP16. It looks like guys are getting the first city of the franchise they played in. Other guys who have a similar situation are Harmon Killebrew and Eddie Mathews.

Yeah, we were using the first team a guy played for. I've changed it to be a little smarter.

Curious: what metric are you using now? I'd think it ought to be PAs for hitters and IP for pitchers. WAR seems OK except that a player who was really amazingly awesome in his 20s for 6 years on one team and then kind of average for 10 on another would show up from the first team, and I'm not entirely sure that's accurate for baseball (as much as I'd like to see A-Rod go into the Hall as a Mariner) (no, wait, what am I saying?).

I'm thinking it would be cool to be able to edit (in commissioner mode) what team a guy is elected in as. For example not all guys wear the cap of their "primary team". I guess a work around for this could be to edit the jerseys of a team, and regenerate the Hall of Famer's card.

I noticed that 17 does not offer the selection in the picture below from 16.
Best Career Team. I was going to offer this might help decide how a player chooses their team in the HoF. Will this be returning for 17 by chance? |

Was the Hall of Fame issue applied to the release update? I noticed that after installing the public release update, the guys are still on the first team they played for in the franchise.

Well it does work, in ootp16, mike piazza did go in as a Met, and when Gary Sheffield went in, he went as a FLA Marlin. And so far, OOTP17 is putting players into the HOF, IMO, the team they SHOULD be in. Great job, MH, as always.

The change did make it in. Keep in mind the HOF BB cards don't get automatically updated - if you delete the cards and regenerate them, you should see "corrected" teams listed.

Here is what I mean. I started a new game after installing the update and Killebrew, Niekro and Mathews are elected with the city they started for with the franchise (Killebrew-Washington,Niekro-Milwaukee, and Mathews-Boston), instead of the city which they are cleary more known for.
