Can OOTP 20 (non-Steam) be played on two computers?
I had been using my Mac laptop and just got a new iMac desktop. I'd love to see my Dodgers playing on this bad boy. But I know in the past I've not been able to play the same game save on two computers. I'll pay for the 2nd copy of the game - I'm not that concerned from a licensing standpoint. But I'm wondering if I can share the same game between computers? Help?
Thanks in advance - |

You've always been able to license your game on 2 computers. Simply install on the 2nd device and use the same license # to activate.
In order to play your league on both devices, you need to transfer the .lg folder back and forth to where you're plaing. |

1. The standalone purchase includes 2 licenses, so you don't have to buy a 2nd copy of the game to run it on 2 computers.
2. There is no default way to use a save on 2 machines, steam or otherwise (we don't support steam cloud saves). People have used various options, including: -Saving the game on a USB stick (and then either copying it back and forth, or actually physically running the game off the USB stick as a drive) -Saving the game to dropbox (and syncing between the 2 machines) -Running off of teamviewer (obviously needing an internet connection, and thus not actually running the game on 2 machines) I know people have tried other things before. Depending on how much you plan to switch between the 2 machines, some options may work better than others. |

map the online cloud storage as a network drive. just need an internet connection, then you don't have to sync. certain apps can do this.
if two programs running same league, that may cause problems? |

Thanks for this Matt. This does raise an additional question for me, however. If I download OOTP anew for my desktop, will the .lg files from my saved game include the same players (with same ratings) as the newly downloaded version which has updated player ratings?
My guess is the answer is yes because the .lg file saves the players. But I just wanted to make sure. |

If you use the same .lg file, then yes everything will be the same.

On a related note, does transferring saves between a Mac and PC work and if so, how do you do so? Is it as simple as just copying files or is there more involved?
