Primary Roster & Farm Teams
I am playing as the Winnipeg Jets PTG mode. Right now in my game it is the PreSeason 2017.
Why is the Primary Roster for the Jets limited to 23 players in PreSeason? How are we supposed to give new players try outs and experience? I would like to play a few new guys in PreSeason to see how they do. Also, how are Farm Teams supposed to be re-stocked with players? Here is the current status of my Farm Teams: Manitoba Moose = 15 players Tulsa Oilers = 12 players |

Pre-season isn't accurately modeled in game right now.
You can send players up and down without needing waivers if you'd like to try out a player, but you can't have more than 23 active players (you can have more than 23 if those extra players are at the World Cup). NHL organizations have a 50 contract limit. 23 of those go to the big club, leaving 27 max to go towards your minors. This year, the Islanders are at only 44 contracts, so many of the players on their AHL team are on AHL contracts. You shouldn't be putting so many players in the ECHL. Most NHL teams have 5 guys down there, tops. Your farm teams should be signing their own players to fill in the gaps. Unless something has changed in a recent patch, you can't sign players to AHL deals in PTG mode, even if you are also controlling the minor league team. |
