New injury proneness

I see that many players detailed injury numbers pretty much mirrors his overall injury proness, but some differs. Why is this, and how does this relationship work and evolve over time.

Is the overall number a supposed trajectory for his career while the detailed numbers is the ones that can increase over time.

They can both increase as the player suffers injuries. A serious injury can increase the base injury proneness rating and/or the body region-specific one. Some players are set up to start with different ratings for some body parts, usually based on an injury history in that area (Crosby's head injury number is high, for example, because of his concussion history.)
