I generally get

high regard for my math skills, but somehow...this one puzzles me.

I think there was something about the average not actually being the average, but rather the median.

"Highest Winning Bid (All-Time) 22"

Where I come from, sir...22 is less than 4,105. Medians be da**ed, it's just bigger.

Jeez...did I just make a size matters joke?

Well...I just put him out at 4105. Let's see if there's a sucker born every minute...

Gives me an idea, though...

What if we see an obviously kinky AH listing (one where you think points are being funneled) and have the card...and we all start listing it for the same price? Worth a try to screw up the works?

Looks like the devs caught someone breaking rules and changed the top and bottom numbers. Not all that uncommon a sight and will be back to normal in 7 days or less.

I think that what happens is that the highest winning bid all-time only gets updated weekly. If a player has been "in-demand" (best reason is part of a new collection) it won't update that highest price for awhile. I have seen "many" cards whose highest bid all-time has been lower than the 7-day average.

Another thing that I think happens is that there are some players who have violated the TOS by putting players for absurd prices on the AH from one team they own and then buying them on the AH with another team they own to illegally transfer PPs between teams. I know for a fact that some players have been banned for that practice, but others have likely not gotten caught.

It's possible that might have happened for this guy. Collection or no, there is no rational reason for a 48 OVR LIVE player to have an average price of over 4000 pps.

I always report these to the dev for potential laundering check.

The all-time highs are hidden on a lot of cards. They are probably too high to show.
