This response doesn't seem in any way proportional to the original comment.

The Frogs, like the rest of the PT'verse, are coming up on the end of "2038." Currently, the team is 83-71 and holds a 5-game lead for the 2nd wild card in P413 NC. I feel it's been an inconsistent season for the team as we've lost a lot of games to bad teams...more than I feel we should've anyhow. Maybe this has something to do with trying out a 4-man rotation this season? I dunno
In the East, the Collingwood Magpies (as predicted) have lapped the field with a 119-35 record. The Hamden Express are also having a banner year (103-51) even though they're 16 games in back of the Magpies. And then, your favorite Frogs are in 3rd at 36 games back. In the Central, the division-leading team is 80-74 and the 2nd place team is 14 games under .500. Would've been nice to be placed there! In the West, the division-leading club is 80-73 and whichever team places 2nd there is my main competition for WC #2. The Frogs have tried a pack opening strategy this week instead of working the AH like usual. We've opened 180 packs and nary a perfect card to be found. That makes for 272 packs lifetime and no perfect cards unearthed. So, we're officially unlucky there considering the 1:1000 odds. Pulled a pair of so so historical diamonds not good enough to make the team (Minnie Minoso and Smoky Joe Wood). In these 180 packs, exactly one player has made the team. Yikes. Thankfully, none of these packs were purchased with real money otherwise that would've been tough. It's not all gloom and gloom though. Before deciding to try out a pack opening approach for a week, I was able to grab PEAK Chipper Jones, Amos Otis, and Chris Hoiles on the AH for about 75K total. And all clean cards! After Martin Dihigo didn't work out, Amos Otis seems to be a better fit. Chipper is training to be an excellent 1B. Hoiles is LIVE Buster Posey's replacement because Posey is having a lackluster season this year and keeps bleeding ratings points each week.

My attempt to complete the Future Legends mission ended finally just a few moments ago when the last of my 23 Future Legends was sold. The reward card had been plummeting in value, so it was senseless to finish it and I was lucky to be able to sell everything at a tiny profit. It's probably a more logical approach to buy the harder cards first and work down rather than the other way around. Collecting 40 cards without any intermediate reward cards is really tough.

I had a thought that maybe collections should be position based rather than specific card based. That is, collect a team of 12 according to a theme, 1 player at each position SP, RP, CL, DH and the 8 field positions. and get a regular pack as a reward. That way, everyone isn't chasing after the 1 or 2 key cards at outrageous prices.

Paragon City Heroes limped into the playoffs with a 91-71 record and divsion win despite going 12-14 in September, luckily we managed to win 5 of 6 against our closest rivals, not sure that building a team for your home stadium is that great a payoff, i fully expect our trip to the playoffs to be brief
Bad News Bulldogs I counted out on multiple occasions, but after playing .500 ball for most of the season the arrival of Votto sparked them and they ended up 87-75 tied for the WC spot, then Rose and Votto stepped up to win that game, my playoffs will probably depend on whether i can sell brouthers, but we are facing a team with perfect Mike Trout and likely Clayton Kershaw as the starter Neuman Furshlugginers I gave up on, blew the team up and made an all silver lineup, they went 20-10 to end the season, and finished 94-68 with a wildcard spot, i'm facing a team with multiple daimonds including a 90 Vlad. we shouldn't have much of a chance but we have the league ERA leader on the mound in Hank Aguirre among our all gold starting pitching

Raccoons finished the year with a 10-game losing streak and 104 bludgeonings overall, which still wasn't bad enough for relegation from Perfect.
That rancid team aside, all my other teams across all PTs are in the playoffs this week. The Rebs and their PT19 equivalent both made a wild card spot, while the Accountants and the PT19 Coons won their divisions. In August it looked nothing like KC had any business with the division, trailing the Wood Ducks by as many as eight. Then came September, the Accountants won 19, and the Wood Ducks won all of nine. Thus, a division crown, and attempt #259798534 to make it out of Silver. Can anybody here win three games in October??

All 3 teams made the playoffs again.
Doha (124-38) won the #1 seed in a very competitive NC, where 4 teams finished with more than 100 wins. Unfortunately 2 of those (Cottage Grove Tube Sox and Somerset Dolphins) will face each other in the wild card, meaning that we will face a formidable opponent in the first round. During the season I finally finished the White Sox mission, getting Ed Walsh for the rotation (bumping perfect Seaver to the bullpen) and 99 Appling backing up the infield. I also made a small upgrade in the setup position, getting 99 Bruce Sutter in place of 96 Rivera Great Lakes (113-49) won the #1 seed in a relatively easy NC and will have home field advantage, which is crucial for this all-righty team. The AC has a much stronger field with 4 teams with 100 wins or more. Perugia (105-57) won the #1 wild card spot and will host the Gashouse Gorillas (100-62). We were in the same division and we had an 8-11 record against them so we'll need to play a good game.

The Raccoons finished with the best record (115 W) in the AC by 1 game which brings with it the usual reward. If our division rivals win the WC, we'll be playing a 100 W team that probably should have won more. If they lose, we'll play a 94 W team. The Summit Dirigibles (a negro league themed team who had the 2nd best record) will play the 78 W Litter Box Samplers.
I finally got Schilling, though he was still a bit more than what I was hoping to spend (355k). So my starters for the playoffs will be Keefe, Schilling, Clarkson and Hubbell and Sutton will join Walter Johnson, Eckersley and Seaver and company in the bullpen. I really think that having another SP comparable to Keefe will improve our playoff chances. I especially like our chances this season, which means absolutely nothing, of course.

I kinda had a good season but then again kinda not. In my sub-league I finished 2nd in batting WAR, 1st in pitching WAR, finished top 3 in about 75% of the other stats, had a run differential of +64 ... and ended up with a losing record. That's baseball, Suzyn.

Moalkha, I’m one of those three 100+ wins teams. Our division was a dog fight. Had my worst pythag result ever, but we’ll just have to see what happens in the playoffs. Good luck to you!

Good luck to you for the wild card game. Winning more than 100 games in that division says a lot about your team.

Praise RNGjesus! The Patriots are FINALLY going up to gold after 11 weeks in Silver hell. I went with a bold strategy for game 4, opting to use lefty Steve Howe as an opener then go to Juan Guzman to follow. Figure I'd try to throw the other team off.
Didn't work. However, the offense bailed me out and we won 13-10. Don't care that I'm an idiot whose boldness gets my team in trouble, we're finally OUT of silver! |

None of my teams (two in 20, two in 19) has died yet. But for the next 45 minutes I will better don my seatbealt.
