Help naming a team in Denver
Naming the teams is usually one of my favorite things about creating a new league. However, I'm completely stumped at the moment for ideas on what to name a team in Denver. So, I was hoping a fresh set of eyes, so to speak, could help me come up with something.
Everything I've thought of so far that actually makes sense, has unfortunately met one or all of my criteria for elimination: - It's already been done by a team in Denver/Colorado - It's currently being used by another major sports league - It just sounds too much like a "minor league" name Normally I would fall back on the old tried and true, alliteration, but even that has failed me so far. To give you an idea, these are just some of the names I've ruled out: Bighorns Rams Bears Grizzlies Alpines Peaks Sierras Rapids Governors Bulls Broncos Stallions Mustangs Broncs Miners Prospectors Mountaineers Pioneers Shredders Slashers Boarders Outlaws Wranglers Desperados Bandits I also don't like these types of names: Blizzard Altitude Avalanche Ice Snow Apex Summit Rampage Destiny Rage Horizon Pride Pack Freedom Express Independence I would be very embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent thinking about this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I know you ruled them out, but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Denver Bears... saw Rock Raines play for them as a toddler.

I'd prefer not to use the name of a current minor league team already playing in Colorado.
I don't care much for Hunters in this case, but I'm going to put Slopes on my list to consider. Thanks for your suggestions.

Good ole Rock Raines, now there is a severely underappreciated player!

If you like alliterations, Denver Dragons or Denver Destroyers. Neither has anything to do with Denver, but I think they're good nicknames, so if you like alliterations....

I do like alliterations, but I'm already using Dragons for my Santo Domingo team and I don't really like Destroyers for a baseball team. I appreciate your suggestions though!

Gold was already used on a USFL team, so it fails one of the OP's criteria for a name, and Rangers is also currently used.

Colorado Divide?
The continental divide goes through Colorado and not far from Denver. It is a bit of a stretch but it's original :P |

Centennials-they became a state in 1876
... 27's - approx # of grams in an ounce of marijuana ..... on a side note , one of their team colors could be aquamarine, it's the state gem

Colorado 420's...all games in Denver start at 4:20 and, of course, points to the legal marijuana use there now.
