I'm so excited about the awards section being revamped with playoff MVP being available and hopefully a more ceremonious awards ceremony for the MVP/other awards. I love that the HOF got more attention as it deserves it and I LOVE the idea of a trophy case for players as I, again, love the ceremonial aspects of the game.

The playoff chase screen I am thrilled to see added as well that's huge!

And I even forgot INDEPENDENT LEAGUES!!!! That is awesome.

Well done OOTP fellas I pre-ordered and to get it in March? Forget about it you gave me an early birthday present!!!

And how could the pending Android release of IOOTP (Now MLB Manager) get overlooked in this thread!?!

Thanks for your tireless work. Glad that this game is coming in before the season starts.

The new coaches system and awards are going to be the big reasons to buy this year. The license is nice, the trophy case seems awesome and advanced team finances are also nice new adds. Great job again. Thanks for making such a polished product.

Well it is the second year in a row that the BIG announcement hasn't been something I see as an improvement to the game (in fact this year it is a negative, albeit a very minor one) but as usual the many smaller announcements make the game well worth buying.

I think with the new MLB License, it will open up the exposure to the game even more allowing for larger possibilities. I understand some people may not see it as a significant improvement as it could have always been modded in but it may help bring other features in for the future. I hope :-)

If you consider the long-term implications, it's a huge positive even if you don't spend one minute in an MLB game.

Indeed. It has the potential to grow the market of the game quite dramatically.

Actually I play only MLB games and this is adding nothing I don't already have and taking away something I currently have (drug suspensions).

I am not saying OOTP is wrong to do this. I don't blame them one bit for doing it.

But much like the (slow) move to more graphics, it adds nothing to actual gameplay.

Again, though, there is lots in this announcement that DOES add to actual gameplay, so you take the bad with the good and still end up with a great game.

The screenshot has an "import ootp15 game" option so it looks good

Which, in turn, should lead to more revenue for Markus. And we've already seen his willingness to hire people as the game grows, so it's logical to think that the bigger market may lead to more programmers, which may lead to some of the suggestions people have made finally being added to the game in coming years. A win-win, if this is what ultimately happens.

I apologize for asking without having read the full announcement or all the threads since the announcement, but do we know 100 percent for certain that drug suspensions are now gone?

Yes. Confirmed in another thread.

Though only in MLB-related games so they are still there for those who play fictional and want them.
