There are many versions of this. Some of them are better than others.

It appears that OPS+ and wRC+ recalculate each season based on the league that your team is in now. They always reset to 100 before each season.
On the other hand, stats like RC/27 and wOBA do not reset. I assume that is because they are calculated without consideration for the context of the league. Am I right? |

I personally like to use BatR statistic normalized for a full year of play. So the components of WAR are Batting Runs (BatR in this game) + Base Running Runs (BsR) + positional adjustment + fielding runs + league adjustment + Replacement Runs)/ (Runs per win). See https://library.fangraphs.com/war/war-position-players/ for more info.
So Batting Runs are directly calculated from wOBA, PA, and home park factors... essentially the correlation for batting runs and wRC+ in this game (adjusting for full season) is nearly 1, but the scale is better if you ultimately want to estimate true value of a player based on hitting + base running + fielding. Yes, these stats are recalculated for each season relative to your current league; but that is a good thing, as you are easily able to compare your players to the average player (BatR will equal 0 for the average hitting player).
