Changing Park Dimensions

When I first started my team last week I was unsure how I wanted to setup my ballpark so I went full defaults.. then I tried to edit mine and saw I was too late to do so because it was too far in the season. I figured that was fine and decided to wait until this week to try again (Monday afternoon), but I was still "too late" to edit my ballpark because I didn't get on early enough on Monday to hit the "7 day" period (which is only like 3 hours from start of sim Monday morning).

I think we should be able to edit ballpark throughout Monday, but maybe limit it to one edit per week to prevent people editing per game/series or alternatively just allow 1 edit per week/season and not limit it to Monday.

Agreed. It's a problem to have the only window be a tiny slot on one day only.

Tying edit limits to "real days" is really hard. And 30 sim days seem to long IMO, it can be exploited.

You can adjust the ballpark dimensions after the playoffs are over, by the way.

What time are the playoffs over on Sundays?

I go to bed around 10pm ET and am able to get back onto OOTP until I get off work Monday, and home around 4-5PM ET.

How can you exploit it if you limit the number of edits? As it stands it might as well be 0 edits for most people which is pretty frustrating.

Well, I had to go to bed before the playoffs were over (my league went to game 7), so I woke up and logged on the next morning specifically to change my ballpark before work, and I'm getting a message that the league is simulating and the file "not currently downloadable". So I can't change my park this season, again. Still think the window needs to be bigger (I can't access at work, and by the time I get home, the league will be a month in).

I understand PT is at a fast pace and not everyone can be catered to, but this seems like a pretty big issue as it'll affect lots of Eastern + Central Time USA players.

Would it be possible to allow 'pending changes' at any time that would only then be applied in the off season? This would allow people to set their desired changes, even if they can't hit the edit window, without messing up the current season.

My game says we're in Day 4 of the sim and the rules say that I can change my park up through Day 7, yet it won't let me make any changes. It's very frustrating.

I think the first step is to pinpoint exactly when this "7 Day Window" can be expected to occur so people know when they should expect to be online to make such a change.

In IK (Class A), the final game of the WS was simulated at 0100 EST on Monday.

I tried to edit after the 2nd sim (I had played 2 games) and was locked out.

I think you can change your park dimensions once your team is eliminated from the playoffs. So once your season is over you can. I could be remembering this wrong, but I thought thats what i did a few seasons back since i knew I would be unable to edit monday.

That wasn't possible at the time I made that post (this is an old thread) - but yes, you're right! Though still somewhat buggy, this issue is closer to being fixed.
