Suggestion: Sub Forums for Each League

I would love to see implemented forums for each league.

While it would be awesome, Markus has said that it's not going to happen, and it's understandable. It would be a moderation nightmare. As Markus posted earlier today,

Even that many threads in a single forum would be crazy to try and keep up with, especially considering how often teams will be switching leagues. It's best to leave it as it is now, where people can create their own threads if they so desire. Though a separate sub-forum for those "Trash Talk" threads might not be a bad idea.

I hear what your saying however more than likely this will generate extra revenue for the studio. Perhaps they look at hiring full time mod's or volunteers *raises hand* :P

That sounds like it would generate extra expenses for them, not revenue... lol

I do like the idea of a subforum where we can create our own threads for specific league talk. I've almost created threads a few times but wasn't sure if that was frowned upon. It would definitely add to the immersion and fun for me to have a thread to pop into and talk to whoever is in my leagues each season.

Maybe they could even find a volunteer mod just to keep an eye on that sub forum and lock up/remove threads as the seasons roll over or something along those lines.

I would encourage anyone to join the OOTP discord, we have channels for each level of the game and you can find those in your league there.

League specific threads could be tough. First off how many people in your league actually visit the forums?

I was thinking about starting a new thread for Season 2 for all discussions but did not for some reason.

I think this is probably the best idea. Each week start a new thread for that specific season. Keeps the clutter down in the forum.

The problem with discord is that you end up with more very casual small talk and things move quickly, so if you can only check in a few times a day you may miss things or have to go back and read for an hour to catch up.

Always hated that about discord/slack with my online leagues and other gaming communities. I really miss the old school forums like we have here where I can jump in every few hours and see what's new without having to sift through a thousand "lol" and other quick 2 word exchanges.

Yeah, discord is more of a chat than a message board.
