What determines which team is good versus which is bad?
Oftentimes when I make a new league in a game, I start off by drafting the highest potential young players in the league, then some trade bait, and then filling out my roster with the worst players in the league. So, while those high potential players develop, I can pick some top flight prospects to build my team around as well. I was excited to delve into FHM5 after taking 4 off and barely playing 3, but it doesn't look like the game is letting me lose.
As you can see, despite being very bad, my team just isn't losing games. I even did this to both my goalies' ratings about five games ago: And yet my team is 3-1-1 in those 5 games with 13 goals allowed (five in the regulation loss, another one of those goals is a shootout goal) and two games at one goal allowed. How the hell do I start losing games without benching/moving my couple long-term players? Also, apologies for the size of the images, it's not letting me re-size them for whatever reason.

Maybe you're winning through tactics?

I was gonna try and screw my tactics as much as possible but (1) I don't know hockey too well and (2) I wanted to leave as many things in the AI's hands as possible so I could get through the season quickly since I was being intentionally bad anyway. Ended up with 33 wins and the 6th overall pick in the draft. |
