Another possibility, instead of termination pay, be able to set whatever percentage of the contract is guaranteed. This seems "better", because in post reserve-clause years, players typically had deals longer than 1 year. IE, player's making 10mil a year for 4 years, contracts are set at 50% guaranteed, you cut him in offseason after year 2, you owe him 50% of the remaining 20mil on the deal, etc. Some basic math would need to be added to allow for mid-season cuts, but since OOTP already tracks player salary expenditures as the season goes along (even if not on a player by player level that's visible to the user), I don't think much work would be needed to get that to work properly.

You can tell the AI how many pitchers to keep on its roster in the league setup.
