Multiplayer

Steam mentions the '21 version of the game has cross platform multiplayer. Does that mean I can play a live game with what ever team I choose against another player or is the multiplayer related to the Perfect Team part of the game?

This is related to Perfect Team and traditional online leagues. Live game head-to-head is not (yet) supported.

That is a shame. Online multiplayer is the one thing keeping me from purchasing this game.

You can easily play head to head with a friend using a free tool like TeamViewer, absolutely no problem at all!

Since it has been mentioned the use of the word friend is important if you plan on going the Team Viewer route. The Team Viewer program opens your entire computer up to whoever connects to it. Not something to do with strangers.
