When converting a starter, whether veteran or prospect, into a reliever, will they ever stop expecting to be a starter or are they always going to want to start? I’m hopeful that eventually it will change because this happens all the time in real life.
I’m new to OOTP but for example I’m in September 2021 with the Red Sox and I’ve fashioned Mike Shawaryn into a dominant set up man and potential closer for next year with a 2.34 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 2.87 FIP, K/BB of 4.0 with 78 Ks in 50 IP (key words as always-so far).
He’s turning 27 by the end of the month and has never had success starting and has a stamina of 40, it was 45 a couple years ago. In what world is this guy not stoked he’s turning into a high end bullpen piece? Why is he still insisting I should start him? If there’s a good reason shout it out of course. If his stamina wasn’t 40 I might even think about listening to him, but really this guy should be amped lol. If anything he should be mad he’s not closing lol. Anyway this game is awesome and bad for my health probably.
