Invalid roster in league I'm not playing

I have a standard league structure that has been going for over 15 seasons. I control the Cubs and only the Cubs. I'm not in Commissioner mode. I have never in any way touched or even looked at the Nippon league. In the middle of a sim in the year 2035, I get a message that a game in the Nippon league can't be simmed because the rosters are invalid. Shouldn't the AI just make whatever moves are necessary to field a valid roster? I looked at both teams' rosters and didn't see anything that looked invalid. They each have 28/28 players on their active roster. Any idea what would have caused this? Is there a way to fix it without going into commissioner mode or taking over one of the teams?

Well, I figured it out. It was that player on the Lions that doesn't have a set position. I went to his player page and clicked "Set to 3B" and now the problem seems to be fixed. He's a two way player, which must have led to the issue somehow. I've played this game a long time and never seen that one before.

Edit: After fixing it I simmed a few more days and the same issue cropped up again. Same player listed without a position. The teams pitching screen shows that player as a reliever, but he hasn't pitched in a game this season. If he was a starter I could theorize that the problem was coming up when his starts came up. But he's a reliever, so I having trouble figuring out what's triggering this. Any way to stop it other than deleting the player or something?

It was the limit on foreign born players. When they tried to use that guy as a pitcher instead of a position player it put them over the limit on foreign born pitchers. I raised the limit on foreign born pitchers, which will hopefully end the issue.
