Walk Off Balk

I just lost a NL Championship Series game on a walk off balk in the 11th inning. I'd like to meet the umpire with the cojones to make that call.

I guess you would call that a "Balk-off win?"

The Northwest League was decided by a balk-off in 2018.

The media called it that when it happened in reality, IIRC.

June 16, 2011. Mets @ Braves in Atlanta. R.A. Dickey started the game for the Mets, and D.J. Carrasco ended it with a walkoff balk, 9-8 in 10 innings.

First game I ever watched live on MLB.tv in the middle of the night and I had no ****ing clue why everybody was screaming all of a sudden.

Anyone out there play Earl Weaver baseball when they were younger? We had a league when I was in college (early 90's), and our World Series was decided on a bases loaded Balk-off (by Brian Barnes in game 6). Never forget that. My friend who lost was furious (slammed his fist down & broke my desk). Others were laughing for a long time.

Wow, I posted about that game almost 9 years ago, thanks for that trip down memory lane.

I played a lot of Weaver baseball in high school. I'm guessing a lot of us of a certain age have played it. And then I played Front Page Sports Baseball (and football) after that. Front Page Sports Football was incredible.

Walk-off wild pitches are more common, but I just had a 22-inning game end with a wild pitch (fortunately in my favour).

Needless to say, my bullpen was completely gassed after the game. I called up a couple of fresh arms afterward, and with one of my horses starting the next day, I figured I'd be okay... until said horse got himself ejected in the first inning of his start for his participation in a brawl. This is one of those times I wish OOTP had more opportunities to interact with players, because I'd really like to chew out that knucklehead.

I played a lot of Earl Weaver Baseball, as well, and then followed with Tony LaRussa Baseball, and Frontpage Sports Baseball and football. Agreed Frontpage Sports football was a great game, but also liked the baseball game except for the occasional quirky things like foul ball singles.
