49 million to trade a player?
Maybe this belongs on the bug forum, but it's really weird. I'm trying to trade off a AAA pitcher making the league minimum. And one of the issue is that it tells me the opposing team's available money would drop by $49 million. Anyone know what's going on? It seems to apply to any player who is or has been on the 40-man roster. It's really destroying my ability to make trades.

Ah
OK, I figured it out. The team I was trading to was right at the league salary cap. Seems an odd way for the trade engine to tell you that ...

Looks like a bug, but also it doesn't appear to be blocking the trade. Probably something to do with your cash maximum and budget settings causing the game to miscalculate your available money.

It's definitely the salary cap. They had $49 million cash on hand but were only $200k below the cap. No team had that error that wasn't near the cap. And if I tried to trade for salary to put me above the cap, it gave the same crazy figure. It just had an extra note saying this would put me above the cap. So think it's a small bug in how it manages caps. I'll put in a bug report.

You're right, I misread it as your money dropping by $48m. Incorrectly assumed your unusually large cash & budget room amounts were throwing things off.
Definitely not the right wording for the salary cap constraint.
