Nations

I am putting this here because I can't post new threads. I use the coats of arms for nations. I know that you are very rarely at the nation screen, so not many people will have an interest in this, but some of the coats are very interesting. The following is an example of one that I use. If anyone is interested in this minutiae I can zip them up for you.

Jofre Can You ID This Photo?

Jofre and other history buffs, try your hand at identifiying the other guy in this photo. They're in a ring in an outdoor arena, probably set up for Wills. I don't see palm trees. Wills is not a kid and he's not old. I'm thinking the Firpo fight or earlier. If the white guy is one of his sparring partners, is Wills getting ready to fight some big guy like Willard or Firpo or Fred Fulton? Looks like a publicity still as they're not wearing headgear.

Cap

P.S. One chap has suggested it may be Andre Anderson. I think Anderson was blonde though.

P.P.S. Latest concensus is that Wills' opponent in the attached photo is Jack McAuliffe of Canada.

Skins/Backgrounds

Wasn't sure where to post these as I can't create a new thread in here: These need to be saved as default skins in your game.

Thank you!

Hi Cap,

I went straight from my email alert of a "reply" and responded in that thread.
Totally missed your fine uploads here until I backed out of that area.
These are great! I will see if I can tweak them to 2.5 specs.

I'll let you know how I do.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

JP

Here's a great character study of heavyweight Jack Munroe published in a newspaper and taken sometime between the Tom Sharkey and Jim Jeffries fights. Munroe was born in Boularderie, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and like a lot of young guys from that area travelled on the shoe-leather express looking for adventure and a better way to earn a living than working in the coal pits. He ended up working the mines near Butte Montana. One of my grandmother's uncles came from that same area around Glace Bay and went off at 18 to "be a cowboy". They were hard men like Mickey MacIntyre and Roddie "Big Pay" MacDonald.

Here's a nice patriotic photo for my pals south of the Medicine Line. Fightin' Bob Martin heavyweight champion of the AEF in WW1. And an alternate study.
