OOTP 6 Draft Issue

Hi, I had a question about my fictional OOTP 6 league. Me and my friends started a league back in the day and never felt like moving the league along with the current versions of the game.

My question is, in the most recent amateur draft, the new players generated seemed to be using player files of old players that did not retire, but simply vanished. Each player in the draft class had a "Career History," but no stats or anything else to identify themselves as an older player.

Ex. One player took the file of a former batting champion and 3 time all-star who was only 33-years-old that is nowhere in the league now that this new rookie is here.

Is this a bug? Did I do something wrong? Is it normal for the game to recycle through player files, even though they didn't even retire?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
