Turn off Player Development Budget?
Hello all,
I've been reading a ton of posts on the Player Development Budget and have decided I would like to disable this feature. Is that something that can be done once a league has started? Only in the offseason? If so, where do I find that option? I just searched everywhere I can think of and can see no option to turn that off, but I just completed my second season (the WS Game 7 was today) so maybe I'm not in a place where that's available? |

League setup, financials tab, right hand side, about half way down.

What's the advantage of turning it off?

Players develop at the same rate regardless of team. Creates more parity, teams with a lesser budget won't be behind those who could otherwise afford to spend more in player development.

The PD budget was put in as sort of a place to balance excess money. It originally only gave a very small advantage if you spent more. It is essentially a money drain to balance financials. The scouting budget is similar. I don't think this has changed in '21 or since it was introduced years ago. You have to go way back to find it but I remember Markus saying this was mainly there for balance. You can put more in it but it doesn't give a lot of benefit.
So be careful about setting it to 0. It will give extra money to teams to spend on players. May not be significant but it will change the amount of cash teams have some. |
