OOTP 27 Suggestion: Player Info Tabs — Streamlined In-Game Views
Bring your bullpen data, arsenal, and recent form right into the dugout — without ever leaving the game screen.
⚾ The IdeaEvery in-game player panel (batter or pitcher) could have a series of small tabs sitting neatly along the top edge of the panel, like folder tabs. Each tab represents a custom-defined or preset view. Click a tab (or hit Ctrl + 1–4 e.g.) and that corner panel instantly swaps content — no new windows, no backing out of the play view. It’s a simple but powerful way to make managing and spectating more interactive, fluid, and fun. 🧩 Example Presets 1️⃣ Default View – Ratings, current season stats, stamina, pitch count (what we see today). 2️⃣ Arsenal + Splits – Pitch repertoire with usage %, velocity, and stuff/potential ratings, plus left/right splits and a quick fatigue note. 3️⃣ Game Log – Last five outings with IP/H/R/BB/K lines and a mini trend graph (ERA / WHIP). 4️⃣ Leverage + Usage – Tooltip above tab “Leverage & Usage View”; high/medium/low leverage stats, inherited-runner performance, saves/holds, and a five-day usage or fatigue bar. 🧠 Why It Matters
![]() Here's some really dodgy screen mock up that took waaaay to long for Chat GPT to produce for me before I got impatient and said that's enough they'll get the idea (yes I understand this is a reflection on MY skills, not its') Thanks everyone |

I like the tab idea as an option as long as the current widget remains in the game, both expanded and small. Full credit to you for noting that default should not change from it's current form.
This is important because sometimes new ideas to streamline the gui take things away that many users like. The most recent example, I think, would be the removal of batter v pitcher stats on the opening screen for played out games. These were patched back in the game after user complaints. ![]() Presets? I suppose they could be there as long they can be edited to add/subtract whatever we like. In essence this would be the same as building views only in a very limited space. For me? If I have to hit a tab I could just as well hit the team substitution button and get everything I need on one screen with my custom views. Though the nice thing about a tab is you could leave it on whichever view you liked and that is cool and would be a nice QOL addition for those that would use it. I just don't think I would, at least not much. Having said that I think it is a good idea and with some fleshing out on how to implement it could be a nice addition to the game. I'm sure a lot of players would like the tabs and use them. It could also be if they implemented your idea I might find myself loving it and using it all of the time.

Really good idea.
This and other updates to the 3D play should evolve as the game continue to improve. That said, like your example, it would be nice to be able to move out of the game play and check other non-game play areas, like History Index or what is the upcoming schedule, things I think about when I am playing. |
