Question on Sketchup to create stadiums
Hi, I am trying to do a new 3D stadium, and have run into a problem.
I am using Sketchup and followed Mike Silva's Youtube tutorial. I outlined the field, but it did not create a new face when I was finished. This has happened twice. On my first try, it created the face as expected. I realized I needed to modify the picture I was using as the model, so I modified it. But on the 2nd and 3rd tries, it did not produce a new face when I was done outlining the field. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know how to fix it? TIA . . . |

There are usually two reasons why this happens for me:
1. At some point I drew a line that isn't on the face of the image. Usually I was adjusting my camera and ended up drawing a line at an angle, so it has a weird shape suddenly. Try rotating your camera to see if you have a line in the air. 2. I didn't actually connect my drawing at all the points on the outline. There are two ways to resolve this: - right click on your image and hide it. Sometimes this shows you where you missed easily. - If you don't see it that way, draw a line cutting your field in half. The half that doesn't fill in is the half that has your issue - it helps reduce the amount of work you need to do to find where it's missing. Once you fix the other side delete your line and you're good to go. Hope that helps! |
