Free Online Image Editor

I've been asked a few times about how I do the white outlines on logos (I use Photoshop or Xara), so I did a little searching for an image editor that included that feature and was free. After testing several editors, I found that none had that feature and was about to call it quits when I finally found one.

It's called SumoPaint

To Stroke an image: select from menu - Layers/Layer Effects/Stroke set size, color and position.

This is a pretty good editor, lots of features and not too complicated.

I haven't tried gimp in many years, but I remember it being very difficult to learn and I don't know if it's still an addon that's needed to get the stroke feature. Also, this one is online, so even MAC users can use it.

The closest thing I see in PXILR to stroke is outer glow and you can't even change it's color or size.

You use layer styles.
Change the hardness to highest level.
You can choose the color and the size of the glow.
Just click on the words "outer glow" and it will bring up the settings.
I had to play around with the website in order to find these things out.
Using this website has been very easy for me.
Works with ALL of your programs Justafan.
I created my entire MLB uniform set for use for my Mets dynasty.
PXILR to take care of the logos, and your awesome programs to clean up the logos, and create the jerseys and caps.

Wierd, I don't see those settings. Maybe it's NoScript or uBlock blocking it.

EDIT: OK I see the controls now. It was being blocked by my Firefox addons. Thanks for pointing that out to me because I do like PXILR a lot.

No add-on required - I've been using GIMP for a few years now and it's gotten a lot better. If I can use it, I reckon most everyone who's inclined to mess around with graphics can use it, too.

As far as white outlines, I actually used the instructions you gave in another thread, JF, to figure out how to do it. Just select the object you want to "borderize" then choose "Stroke Selection" under edit. Make sure that the color you want is set before you do that, then choose the width of the border you want. Simple as!
