Capped tourney problem?

I played my first capped tourney, 1875, and I wouldn’t find where the cap number was for my players. But I figured out when they turned red they put me over the cap. But I can’t for the life of me figure out how a guy had 12 diamonds all 95 or higher and 22 total players on his team.

Well, 12 diamonds is roughly 1140, right? That leaves over 700 to fit 10 more players which sounds easily doable unless my math is off. It's early here.

the math is right...

95 rated x 12 slots = 1140

50 rated x 14 slots= 700

Total value for team: 1840... you still have some room, and from there you can choose to drop some of the 50's to low 40's and some to high 50's...

Again, no coffee math.

Ok thanks. Since I haven’t found where the cap number is on the screen(so much detail to this game) I didn’t know how much players cap numbers were.

The reason it shows 0 players but 1040 used cap is the game counts empty roster slots as 40.

It's right here:

If your question is how much each player counts against your cap, it’s the card’s overall rating/value. There is no separate salary cap hit for each card, just the one number that shows up everywhere. A cap of 1875 means you can have, say, 13 Perfect 100 cards and 13 Iron 44 cards for a total of 1300 + 572 = 1872. Empty roster slots are “ghost players” and cost 40 cap points (the minimum card value).
