Greatest randomly generated fictional player name ever?
"Not one to rest on his laurels". Obviously. Hence all the sequels. Not much power, but his slash line is all right.

My star shortstop for my custom Air Force team in OOTP 20 is named George Getson. I pronounce the G in Getson with the J sound ( g before e).
When I saw that one, I had to draft him. Last edited by Pendragon; 03-18-2020 at 07:31 PM. |

I've added fictional first and last names (both of my own creation and from well-known works) to my fictional setting, which is fantasy-world driven, so I get some epic ones (and they're all randomly-generated). For you Lord of the Rings fans, there was a Gandalf Greyhame. If you're familiar with Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive, then you'll appreciate the fact that I had a reliever named Kaladin Bridger.
Among more "normal" names, I've had a Morgan Freeman and a Fuller Power. I think the name generator has a sense of humor. |

Whenever I start a fictional league I seem to always get an Alex Rodriguez. Don't know why.

So they are weighted more heavily Meaning they have a higher probability of being selected. And selected together |

Found a player named Sincere Loving the other day. I laughed pretty good at that one.

When checking the replies just now, I noticed that my dude Mr. Voorhees led the league in triples in 1978. With 13. Man, couldn't have planned that any better.

I recently got a player named David Poon in one of my leagues. I nicknamed him Tang.

The best name I have in my current save, and it's definitely no Fook Bacon, is Jake "The Snake" Roberts. I also have that extended names file that draws up a *lot* of 21st century white guy names but also occasionally draws up complete winners like a guy named Jazz. I can't remember what his last name is now, but it was something really anachronistic (like Jazz Nuclearbomb - actually if it was that I would have kept it) so I renamed him Jazz Gillespie. He puffs his cheeks out when he pitches!
