Closers
I've played 19, 20, and 21. Overall, I have never been able to lock down a consistent closer other than in 20. For 10 weeks, I've been using the Special Edition Todd Worrell in 20. I've been in the Perfect League, so I was suspicious of using him at a 95. I only acquired him because I was working towards Zack Wheat. However, once I had him, I plugged him in and asked the AI where to put him. It put him at closer. That surprised me because I had DeGrom (100) at closer. DeGrom wasn't getting the job done. So, I ran with Worrell.
Here is the crazy thing, Worrell has been a beast. I've never had a closer like him. His ERA is 3.10, which is good. He never gets selected to the All-star game, even when he's sporting a sub 2.50 ERA and has 20 closes before it. But he does have a ring. More importantly, he has a .900 save percentage. I've been researching MLB save percentages to see where that stacks up and that is a HOF level save percentage. I don't know how OOTP codes, but Worrell, at a 95, is quite possibly one of the best relievers you can add to a roster. |

Follow up
I bring this up because I am trying to understand bullpen construction. In Perfect League, I find bullpens inconsistent. I'm looking for feedback that will lead me towards consistent bullpens.

Worrell is good, but his ratings against lefties are not that strong.

Relievers throw fewer innings. For that reason they will always be less consistent.
